CCAC Fall 2014 Applicants

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hello All,

I am starting a new thread for the upcoming application process for CCAC fall 2014 nursing admissions. I applied for the sping 2014 cohort and was declined due to my gpa, but now I'm hopeful for my first choice for the fall! I can't wait to get the application process started and wish the rest of you the best of luck!!

You need to have 2 tests done. So a first placement and reading then 1-3 weeks later a second placement and reading. There are 2 papers that will print out. One is for the 2 step ppd test (which we do for the conditional acceptance) and the other is for a 1 step ppd test (the test we will do each year for now on). The nurse who did the placement explained it to me as the 2 step determines if you were ever exposed to tb, but the 1 step only determines if you were recently exposed to tb.

So we only have to have the 2 step one complete? I just noticed that it says the 1 step isn't due until June 2015.

yes, just the 2 step test needs completed for us to start clinicals.

Hey! Does anyone know how long it takes to get your finger prints back? I did mine almost 2 months ago and haven't heard anything. I am getting worried that something got messed up because I was told it would only take 3-4 weeks.

I got mine back in less then 2 weeks. Of course I was fingerprinted less then a year ago when I started my job at the post office so that helped to get them faster. Did you talk to anyone from the school or CP? Weren't the fingerprints due 7/11? Try calling 717-783-6211, they may be able to help you.

Yeah, I want to say that I got mine around two weeks too. That's really weird.

Has anyone received any info from UPMC mandatory education that's due on August 8th?

What's that?!? I didn't hear about anything at UPMC...

I'm going to North Campus and at our info meeting we were given a date to do something for UPMC and were told info would come the middle of July.

Specializes in Emergency Nursing.

Here is the link for the UPMC conpetencies that need to be completed. Make sure you save a copy of each certificate to your comp in case different clinical instructors ask you to show them in the second year.Huge time saver!! Mandatory Training Modules for UPMC Staff All 9 must be completed and you need to click on the 2013 mandatory modules link and do the inpatient clinical module as well.

Did anyone else receive this info in the mail? Maybe they will give this info to us at our upcoming orientation date.

I didn't receive this in the mail. But it's due before orientation. At least for North Campus. It could be different campus to campus but to me UPMC training would be a school wide due date.
