Hi guys!
I have applied for Carolinas College of Health Sciences pre-nursing and nursing programs for the fall 2013. After applying I recieved a letter stating that they were also going to consider me for the summer pre-nursing term even though at the time I had no idea they even had a summer program (therefore my application was processed after the summer pre-nursing application deadline but if I got in I would still be very happy!). I was wondering, if I do not get into the pre-nursing summer program or the nursing program for the fall, am I going to find out if I got into the pre-nursing program for the fall in the same letters or is that all in all a seperate letter in itself!? Just wondering if anyone could let me know that would be great! Very anxious to hear back!!
In order to get into the nursing course your gpa have to be 3.25?? I am considering this school as well. I was looking into rowan cabbarus and other schools. I'm not from charlotte & i don't know what school to attend & what schools are descent.
If you do their pre-nursing program, you need a 3.25 in the 4 pre-nursing courses in order to earn guaranteed admission into their nursing program. There isn't a set GPA for getting straight into nursing. They rank your admission based on GPA, SAT/ACT scores, if you already have a degree, etc.
Hello, I am interested in applying to the summer pre nursing program:) my hs gpa was only like a 2.65...I take the act Saturday and im hoping to do well. What classes do you guys suggest I take prior to acceptance and is there anything I can do to greater my chances
It's helpful to you if you do get in to already have classes like SOC, ENG, and PSY done -- and do very well in them --since it's cheaper at a community college than at CCHS.
Hi all,
I found our today that I was accepted to CCHS Pre-nursing program for summer 2014! Woohoo! I'm beyond excited to begin! I already have my BS in public health education, however as we all know patients get sick first and then need a Dr., and are less worried about preventing illness...so the job hunt led me here. I applied to the nursing program at CCHS for fall 2014 and find out at the end of March! I'd much rather start there, seeing as though I have 95% of my pre-reqs completed, and don't really want to redo Math, A&P 1&2 etc. Are there any others who received their acceptance via email today, or waiting for nursing fall 2014 at CCHS!
Good luck!!

The only classes you need are high school biology and chemistry and even those can be completed after you get accepted but before you start. If you're applying for pre-nursing, you'll HAVE to take those 4 classes AT THE SCHOOL even if you just completed them elsewhere. If you're applying for nursing, you can take them at any school or you can wait and take them concurrently with the nursing courses, which I don't recommend. Any of the classes that you can take now (ENG, PSY, SOC, etc) to get out of the way would be a good idea. The school is expensive so you might as well take them at a community college for less. You don't need Spanish although it is certainly helpful in clinicals.
