hi :)
i joined this site to get some words of advice. there are probably loads of treads like this. here goes.
i work as a care assistant in an elderly peoples home which is a great start i think and really love this line of work! the home was amazing enough to give me a chance even though i had no previous experience in healthcare. i must say it took a while to pick it up.
I really am not satisfied though, and i want to become a nurse to better my career path. as i feel stuck and a tiny bit worthless as the company i work for isn't the best :/
i already have a degree in Art and Design, needless to say which is useless in this field haha. i'am about to do my NVQ level 3 soon also.
what i want to ask is, do i need anything else to enter into nursing training and also what type of nurse training do i need to take to work in a doctors surgery. i'am also considering working somewhere like in a plastic surgery hospital. i got told not to be a nurse in an elderly home as the environment doesn't let me utilize my skills.
i'am really nervous and when i try to research it i do not know where to start! lol
also is there anything else i need to think about before i go into this career path?

This is like eating an elephant - one spoonful at a time will get the job done. First, talk to an advisor in a local nursing school. What you need above all is a license. After you get your license, then you can start job searches. If you are in the USA the nursing license is generic and will allow you to work any nurse job. Once you are licensed, and hired, the facility will train you for that department.

dont let people tell you not to work in a nursing home because you wont use your skills.. you will, in my opinion, use more skills there than in an OR. if you like the environment dont discredit it because of what people say...
from some of the words you are using, i am assuming you are not from the US. either way, i would start contacting colleges/universities/nursing schools in your area and asking what they require. good luck!
