Hello everyone...I'm currently enrolled on the lpn bridge program at Capscare Academy. Has anyone else completed the program or close to completion or may be interested in forming a study group? I'm having difficulty navigating the course work. Any help and opinions on this would be greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance!

Congratulation on deciding to advance your career. Just to let you know that it is possible to complete your school with capscare no matter what other people say. I completed my with capscare and I am waiting now to take my NCLEX. The school is self is tedious but not hard because you have all this resources to get your work done. My suggestion for you would be to do your school work but also practice NCLEX style questions. Specially HESI style questions because that's what's going to hold you back. Because everything is online a lot of student in my class had problem passing the HESI. With the school work, the school allows you to work in groups. so go to the school dashboard and find student that is in the same class as you and do the school work together. It's a one-year program it also depends on how fast you get to work done. After you get to med-surg you can do your clinical which is the two week in Florida. I'm not sure what are the changes due to Coronavirus. Anyway I hope that was helpful. Good luck with everything?

Question how long did it take for you between passing the HESI for you to get your ATT number? I just passed the HESI and waiting on the ATT.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm doing leadership & management. Good to see those who have made it. Again thank you, Celia

Oh yea good luck on the NCLEX keep me posted. Celia

Your welcome. Now I just got my ATT will keep you on the loop

Yes I have 5 people I know that completed Capscare and took boards and passwd

I don’t see them on the FL BON so they must not be open anymore

I passed the NCLEX and graduated in June.  Passed the first time with 75 questions.  Good Program, Just do the work!

Congrats ????

londonflo, the MBON has provided a very vague description of the lack of acceptance of the program.  They also do not accept Excelsior and several other programs which they used to accept.  Due to the way the law is written the vagueness of their statement below.  They are not required to provide details, as a student of Cascara I have tried to inquire several times.  Students  whom graduated from other schools have had similar problems.  My biggest concern with this fairly new policy is the lack of nurses Maryland will be producing.  Maryland like the rest of the country lacks enough nurses.  There is an overall lack of nurses willing to work at the bedside, Maryland is no exception & has a great need.  Due to several reasons including pay differences, & reduced number of Maryland schools offering prelicensure programs.  I find it interesting they will allow several out of the country schools approval however some of the schools in the states are denied licensure.  The overall country is going to be in trouble soon due to the lack of nurses & the ever aging baby boomer population whom will need care.  Nursing education has become increasingly academic.  There is a great need for overall nursing programs rooted back in the hospital or career centers.
