Can't get a new job... Any help?

Published

Hi. I graduated from nursing school in 2010 with a BSN. It took me a couple months after passing my boards to find my current job as a pedi home care nurse. I have been looking for a new job for about 9 months now. I have only had two interviews in that whole time and no job offers. I thought once I had a year exp. I would start getting calls but I now have a year and a half exp and still nothing. I don't understand why I can't find a new job... Am I doing something wrong, or is homecare exp not really good enough? Someone help, or advice please!!!!

You seem to have missed the fact that I am not arguing with you. Enjoy.

probably because of the whole pedi thing, they think your only used to children. if you had more experience with geriatrics, adults or the elderly, you'd have more job offers, but the pedi thing makes you more of a pedi nurse, so you have to look for jobs in those fields, or take a course and branch out more into adult nursing. try hospital gigs.

I hope you find something soon. Good luck!

Wow, it's not just having RN experience, but the right kind of experience (and length) now? Craziness... I don't think there is anything wrong with you, just the way the health care environment is evolving at the moment.
