keep your head up, 24 is young and full of life. nurse's are working up until their 60, 50, all types of age... get into an agency

that happened to me already, dont tell your answer, or give a lower # then ask hers, plus if its unionized, it all in the contract anyway, jealousy at the end of the day

after years of nursing, and with the yearly hourly wage increase, then things start to look better... meaning after 5 to 7 years in nursing, you should be i would hope making at least 60 grand a year. in nursing, the money takes time to come in... but after years of experience, it usually pays off

the only regrets i would have is... sometimes the little pains i get in the body and the possibility of being hurt on the job, but other than that nursing is beautiful and wonderful and room for advancement.. but the body aches after a hard shift, uh uh... thats the part i detest... but if u work smart, less likely to get hurt.. but for newbies like myself, sometimes a rookie mistake can happen, though im learning as best as i can from experience, trial and error

I remember when I first started, and the orientating nurse kept saying "oh my gosh, their hiring babies now... soon babies will be giving pills" I did not understand the joke at the time. but now I see its a regular joke.

However, many of those people will never become a nurse. Nursing schools know how to weed out the wannabes versus the truly dedicated to me, i find the wannabe's are still getting through.

this has happened to me at an LTC, they did not want to pay me for shifts worked. I had to fight real hard to get my pay, i dont see why employers like to stiff nurses. never mind i had an agency job pay me late.

same job my foot, she went 4 years, and takes the critical or unstable patient if push comes to shove, and can possibly be "in-charge", why do all rpns believe they are doing the SAME EXACT job as the rn, will someone get real, or is it just me.

lots of so called "friends" desert you, once you take on nursing as you career. worse yet, if your trying to be an rn, all so called friends drop off at the way side.. especially when u start to be successful, thts when they hate u the most

girl, your not the first to lose a nursing job in 6 months and you wont be the last. suck it up, keep applying, try ltcs senior homes if you have to, and agencies. until that next big hospital gig comes through. because u still need experience

your just finding out, what many people knew a long time ago. work your nursing home job, until better can be done

not all comments said by these coworkers are constructive, some comments are to put you down, make you feel low, make you feel like quitting. making you feel [color=#1122cc]ostracized. hang in there new grad. people hate to see the young doing something with themself.

it starts rough, once they get to know you, and have made you suffer enough, then it will die down. but you cant care about the critics, you have to go in 10-15 mins early, get your assignment, know all the details to each patient (dressings, meds, vs) know and do everything you can remember, then ask a fairly new colleague what you dont know how to do. always ask questions if you are not competent in a skill (i.e PICC meds). dont worry once you've been there a year, things should get better. its all up to you, and your attitude and outlook.

the secret to nursing is remembering that you can get hurt/injured working accordingly, being careful with these patients and not getting yourself hurt with these patients. because the patients are coming in heavier and heavier... so you have to know how to play the game

SO SO TRUE ABOUT : Its the mean tired nurses you gotta worry about, they do eat their young, but not before stalking the hunt for weeks behind the victim's backs, then shredding them into pieces out in a desert safari.
