Can't find employment

Published

I am a 22 year old male LPN who is moving to Atlanta soon. I have been applying for TONS of open positions via Monster and Indeed for the past month with no success. The only places that have called me were a nursing home and home health. I current work at a nursing home and would like to try working at some type of clinic or doctors office. I would even do an behavior/substance abuse place or prison. Any suggestions on what I should do to increase my chances on finding employment?

You might laugh, but I've always found the best jobs on Craigslist. I live in a large city and many hospitals and clinics post ads and are usually quick to reply.

I haven't tried that one but I will definitely give it a try! Thanks!

Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic is almost always looking for LPNs, and they have 18 locations all over the metro Atlanta area. Check out their website Home | Atlanta Allergy & Asthma. Weekends and holidays off!

Specializes in Psych, Addictions, SOL (Student of Life).

If you want to work in corrections nursing you need to go to the state employment website where you want to work. They usually don't post open Positions on Monster and Indeed. Fill out the application submit a copy of your license and wait. The candidate lists are often long so be prepared to wait. I recently got a call from the California State Prison system for a position that I applied for 4 years ago. The pay was great but the prison in question is way out in the ass end of nowhere so I declined.

AS far as Psych and Substance abuse facilities look them up on the internet and apply directly. Psych facilities are always chronically short staffed.

Good luck to you

I just emailed them my resume, thanks!!

Just want to add that while prisons are administered by the state, jails are ran by the county. Don't forget to check with county websites to look for job postings there, too. County jails utilize LPNs very heavily.
