Candlelight Ceremony

For Nurses Week We Are Having A Candlelight Ceremony And I Am In Charge Of It. Not Good. I Have Never Seen Or Even Heard Of One Before. What Do They Do And What Happens At These Things. Rita

Hmm.....if it's what I think it is, each person has a ceramic Florence Nightengale lamp. The first person's candle is lit and that person lights the candle held by the person next to him/her, down the line. Also, the Florence Nightengale Oath is recited.

:yeahthat: Sounds lovely though!

 I STILL DON'T HAVE A CLUE ABOUT THIS CANDLELIGHT CEREMONY. RIGHT NOW I HAVE THE CANDLES AND I HAVE THE FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE PLEDGE. I ALSO HAVE A NURSES PRAYER, BUT THATS IT. THIS SHOULD TAKE MAYBE 10-15 MINUTES. IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM LONG ENOUGH OR SOMETHING. HELP

Maybe you could have someone give a little speech about why they became a nurse or how nurses are important. That would certainly take up a bit more time.

Good luck!

Thanks Linda I Do Appreciate All The Help I Can Get. Rita

:p I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS. IT WAS VERY WET AND COLD TONIGHT SO NOT TO MANY PEOPLE SHOWED UP. IT WAS NICE ANYWAY. I GAVE A LITTLE INTRO TO WHAT WE WERE DOING AND THEN AT THE END I SAID MAY THE LIGHT OF FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE SHINE IN ALL OF OUR HEARTS AND LITE THE CANDLES. WHILE THE OTHER PEOPLE WERE LIGHTING THEIR CANDLES I RECITED THE FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE PLEDGE AND FINISHED WITH A NURSES PRAYER. WE TOOK A LITTLE WALK AROUND AND HAD PUNCH AND COOKIES AFTER. IT WAS VERY NICE FOR SUCH A SMALL TURNOUT. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS
