BCIT Jan 2013 Applicants

World Canada CA Programs

Just wanted to get something started as I will be applying for this intake. Let's get this thread going. Fill me in on who you are and why you are applying bcit's nursing program.

I was told that BCIT is the most recognized institution of all nursing schools in BC. There clinical hours which I like and it's a 3 year program. It is also the most competitive, therefore the brightest, smartest, and well rounded individuals will be there. I want to be associated with a competitive environment, makes me work harder and we can learn from each other.

I am currently at kwantlen completing my pre reqs. I have completed my 1st year english and 1st year psych. I will be taking libs 7001 and 7002, 200 level psych course and 2 other bio courses.

Mine is still the same:( It still says 'waistlisted'

Mine has not changed yet !! still waitlisted !

Hey guys, I just recieved an email from bcit and my status has just changed and I got the email for the August 2013 intake!

Hey Everyone!

I'm currently in term 5 of the nursing program at BCIT (will be starting preceptorship in August 2013... yay!). Just wanted to wish you all good luck!!!! :)

FYI: I was waitlisted as well and had to wait a semester before I finally got in. While I waited I used the time to finish some of my online prerequisites such as libs 7001 and 7002. Being waitlisted in my opinion isn't too bad... enjoy your freedom now while you can ;)

Hey nursemel87! Did u find that most ppl who were wait listed in one intake got accepted the next?

As long as they completed the electives 7001 and 7002

Just got my provisional acceptance just now!! I was on top of the hold list and deferred to August so I was no longer on the hold list for January. So I hope that those who were guaranteed a spot will find out soon!!!

Hey! Yes I did!

Cool thanks! I'm really hopeful to get the show on the road!

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this feed, and had a few questions.

Just recently figured out what I wanted my career to be, and am eager to start the process applying to nursing schools! How has the process been so far? If you could give advice to someone like myself just starting up, what would it be (Volunteer/focus on gpa?) For those that got in, what pre reqs did you have?

Looking forward to hearing back!

Definitely gpa/volunteer or work experience if u can the minimum post secondary credits is 30 but the intake is competitive so around 60 makes you more competitive. All the required pre reqs are on the website

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to apply to BCIT next year and I had read that people were talking about the prerequisites 7001 and 7002? I think I already have all of the other prerequisites completed but I was wondering if those were additional?

Cheers!
