Just wanted to get something started as I will be applying for this intake. Let's get this thread going. Fill me in on who you are and why you are applying bcit's nursing program.
I was told that BCIT is the most recognized institution of all nursing schools in BC. There clinical hours which I like and it's a 3 year program. It is also the most competitive, therefore the brightest, smartest, and well rounded individuals will be there. I want to be associated with a competitive environment, makes me work harder and we can learn from each other.
I am currently at kwantlen completing my pre reqs. I have completed my 1st year english and 1st year psych. I will be taking libs 7001 and 7002, 200 level psych course and 2 other bio courses.
Hi Cat 5. I believe the resume is included with official documents as well and we must submit them before January 31st. That's what I had did when I was applying for the January class. What exactly did they tell you? I'm recompeting again so I will be submiting all updated documents such as my transcripts, resume, and etc.
Sorry, wait on the website it says that a current resume must be submitted BEFORE the application deadline which is on dec 15. In this case if I Were you, I Would call the nursing department up myself and tell them how you had misinterpreted the deadlines and got confused...I would suggest submitting it tomorrow. Just try talking to them and explain to them why there is a delay but there must be a good reason. I'm actually going tomorrow morning to resubmit everything so hopefully it will be ok...I mean it's only 2 days delay...I'm sure they won't make a big deal out of it because when I had applied for the january class, I had submitted a resume like 3 weeks after the application deadline. Plus, things have beein crazy lol and I really want my resume to look good so I have to put all the time and effort into it... I hope that helps!
Hey cat5,
Like I've mentioned, the website says that you need to submit the resume before the application deadline, however if you can CALL the nursing department and speak to them over the phone and explain to them why you did not submit your resume before the application deadline, they may accept it. I'm saying this because I know many people who have submitted resumes a few days after the application deadline with a valid excuse. When I had applied for the January 2013 nursing class, I submitted my resume 3 weeks late and they still accepted it. I even updated it and had sent it in July, which was 3 months late. I can assure you that they WILL accept your resume so please do not worry yourself too much. Just try to submit it ASAP. Like I said, Tomorrow morning I'm going down to BCIT myself to submit all of my documents and resume. They give you up to January 2013 to submit other forms of documents (i.e.: transcripts, etc), You can also submit any updated resumes (That's what they told me) as well.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
My status says I'm still on the waitlist too. I wouldnt worry about still being on the waitlist since the Jan. semester technically hasn't started yet. I would think they would need another week to close that waitlist. As long as you told them at some point you wanted to be considered for the August intake.
