hi everyone!
as i was discussing the process of application to AU to a friend, she told me about this CANADA ICU PAID INTERNSHIP that her agency is offering. she should have 2 years of ongoing ICU or med-surg experience and was told the program will start this September. she should have 1M at least. :eek:with all these, she can go to canada by september, take crne after, then eventually become registered and migrate. :thankya:
this is new to my ears. i've been searching the net about this but nothing comes out, only that advertisement from her agency that is posted to several job-seekers' site.
does anyone know about this? attended a seminar or orientation regarding the matter? plsssss enlighten me. thanks!

What exactly are you paying for? Applying for immigration/ work visa and a nursing license are all things you can do on your own. You don't need to pay someone at an agency to do it for you. A foreign agency cannot arrange an "internship" or a visa.Until you have your nursing license and a work visa you cannot work at any kind of nursing job. I suspect they would be wanting you to work as an unlicensed caregiver not as a nurse.

Canadian hospitals have plenty of internal candidates for ICU training positions. I find it very hard to believe that they are going offshore to offer the training.
You would not be able to get an ICU job by going through a foreign agency ( the union would have a fit). Such jobs are posted internally and seniority plays large part in getting the job.
Ok I thought of another problem with this "scheme". What happens if you pay them all this money, come to Canada and then either don't meet the requirements to write the CRNE or write it and fail? Then you have paid them a boatload of money for nothing.
