Hey guys :) I just joined allnurses after I passed my CRNE. I used to browse the site as a guest before the exam for tips to study. I thought I should create an article to help whoever is writing it in October. I hope it helps! https://allnurses.com/nursing-student-assistance/my-study-tips-936339.html

and YES, group/buddy study is wonderful! I highly encourage it :)

Specializes in Hospital nursing.

I'd recommend using the CNA prep guide, and doing the online CNA predictor tests to guide you in regards to what areas to focus on. The guide book lists the books they used to develop the questions, so you can refer to those books if you don't understand a concept (i.e. got the question wrong).

I also found the U of T prep class helpful in helping me figure out what to study. I believe it is offered in Vancouver too. Good luck! :)

Hello,

I am looking to start a group in the North York region. Specifically, the fairview library. So wondering if your interested.

As a word of advice, you should broadly review four areas to pass the CRNE: 1) Professional standards and documents from the nursing regulator website, 2) Your nursing fundamentals book, 3) Your community nursing textbook and 4) Your Medical/Surgical textbook along with any clinical guidelines. The first 2 competencies will encompass the college website, the third competency will encompass the community textbook and the fourth competency encompass the fundamentals and Med/Surg book.

P.S. The exam guideline is on pg.13 of the CRNE prep Guide and on this presentation http://www.cna-aiic.ca/~/media/cna/files/en/crne_webinar_presentation_2014_e.pdf

Study groups are definitely a great idea, we had a study group for 3 weeks before the exam and all of us in that group passed. Its amazing how you could easily over read a question. Good luck
