Can you try and think back for me...

I posted a few days ago about the many decisions I have to make regarding going to nursing school. I am from Canada so I have 6 OAC (highschool University Prep Courses) to do before even applying and you all had very, very, very ~GREAT~ advice for me that it got me all excited about this school thing!!! Thank-you, thank-you!!

Now, could you think back to your days as a student and share with me which class you found the most difficult or overwhelming and which you enjoyed the most and was the easiest for you. I just want a peep of what to expect....

Thanks a bunch--you guys are the best!!

I loved every class except for pharmacology... maybe because i had to actually put some effort into this class. The rest were easy... except...

A&P... I had to study to get good grades in this class too. As for my nursing classes they are such a blast, I'm sure you will LOVE LOVE LOVE them! GOOD LUCK WITH SCHOOL, I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!

So far I love everything but Chemistry (I had to struggle in it along with difficulties at the moment), I have one more semester of pre reqs to go. Not sure as to what to expect in the actual nursing classes. Good luck to you. :)

Specializes in Public Health, DEI.

I had a difficult time with the physiology part of A&P and path-phys. My favorite classes focused on human development.

Without a doubt, Chemistry (Bio and analytical). I pratically lived in my profs office. Nutrition was a close second (very boring).

I loved the Sociology's and Psych (child and abnormal), and Philosophy.

But, the easiest ones were algebra, A & P and, micro.

PATHO-PHYS in nursing school!!

My worst class was microbiology. I made the mistake (actually, I didn't really have a choice) of taking it over the summer. That meant cramming a 16-week course into six weeks. What really made it intense was that we had a phenomenal instructor who really ought to have been teaching at a grad school level.

She earnestly wanted us to understand micro down to the molecular/atomic level, but she was terrible at pacing her material. We ended up spending far too much time on the pure science and had to cram the application (the part we need more) into a few classes at the end. This meant we could explain the minutiae of the Kreb's cycle but we breezed over more useful things like gram positive and negative organisms and viral vs. bacterial infections, etc.

I think she felt bad that things had gotten so out of hand. She invited us all to a potluck lunch at her gorgeous house (she provided most of the goodies) and we had a great recovery time.

Unintentionally, I learned a lot about time management from the "what not to do" aspect.
