Here is a twist on the post below this one "what do Rn's do that Lpn's Cant"....
Does the RN have all the knowledge of an LPN? Even though they may not do lpn work,,I assume they know how?
Just a thought,,, Thanks....

Here's another way to approach your question...
CNAs can perform basic nursing care and routinized tasks. The LPN is legally allowed perform every duty that is within the CNA's scope of practice, along with so much more. The RN is legally allowed to perform every duty that is within the CNA's and LPN's scope of practice, along with so much more.

The LPN and CNA roles were originally "spun off" from the RN role -- there is nothing within the CNA or LPN scope of practice that is not within the RN education and scope of practice.

NO. Most of them do not. The ones who used to be LPN'S prior to becoming R.N.'S do. Otherwise, most R.N.'S are lost when it comes to med pass. Most LPN'S train new R.N.'S. I am located in North Mississippi also. Close to Tupelo.

It all depends on the type of facility you work in. LTC and acute care function in different ways, so while an LPN who works in LTC can probably run rings around an RN accustomed to acute care on a med pass, it doesn't mean the RN isn't capable or knowledgeable of the principles and with time could do the same thing.
"Lost when it comes to med pass"??? Oh, please ...
