I think you will find apart from the exam you are going to have to do the course

You actually have to complete an approved program there to become licensed as a midwife.

Here's what you can do to get a chance to take midwifery exam..

1) Go to PRC and get a form (I don't know what it is really called) but it is a form wherein you need to fill up different cases.. deliveries, assists, cordcare, suturing, and i forgot what the other one is

2) Find a hospital/public lying in clinic that can accommodate you for the price of PhP****.

3) After getting all cases, go back to PRC and submit the files needed for the examination (ID pictures, examination form, and amount of money - P700?)

** NOTE**

Kindly note of the date of Midwifery examinations and when their exams be..

Hmm, why do you wanna get a midwifery license anyway? Hmm.. ^_^

since you're already an RN here in the Philippines, you could take the midwifery exam if you complete their alloted number of deliveries (75 i think), 5 sutures, and 5 ivf. After completeing such, go and file at the nearest PRC office. You may also take a peek at the prc website and be directed to the midwifery portal.

The poster is a new grad. Without working, there is no way to complete the required deliveries.

One needs to have training in deliveries as well as the complications associated with deliveries. Best way to get this is in an approved program since they are already out of school.

I am a Registered Nurse and a Registered Midwife as well here in the Philippines. I was rotated in the OR-DR in my previous hospital that's where I got my cases. Just an advice, don't take it already. I tought it would help me in my applcations but my Registration as a Nurse did fine along with the clinical experience of course. But, of course, if you have the time and money, why not?

RN, RM (looks good, that's why some Filipino nurses opt to take the midwifery examinations)

Where did you complete your PRC Midwifery Cases? How much did you pay for your completion? I am also interested in specializing in Maternity Nursing. :p

I did not pay anything because I was employed in that hospital during that time

I'm about to take the midwifery examination this april. i heard that this would be the last exam wherein RN's could easily take the board exam as long as the deliveries are completed. the next examinations would have another set of requirements.

i completed my deliveries at a hospital in our place and that's basically it. i also di not pay since i'm already tied-up with a school here.

This is the last batch with the same set of requirements? What would be an additional requirement for the next batch who will be taking in Novemeber?

This is just an additional information for those RNs who still plan to take it

Hi bubbles! In what PRC branch did you go to grab a hold of the Record of Midwifery Form? (Quiapo or Morayta). What specific place in that PRC branch did you request for that form? Thanks in advance for replying. :p
