Hey all! I am scheduled to take the FNP exam in August! AACK!
IF I pass, when can i start work? I have a position available but MD and I are not sure if I can start right away or if I have to wait for the official paperwork.
Also... are the exam questions comparable to Fitzerald? I am scared to death of the exam! Any input will be greatly appreciated!

actually, "provisional" approval lets you practice as a np-graduate for up to one year. the "interim" approval is only good for a 90 day period.
right, that is what i said about interim... "aka 'interim approval' good for 90 days"... i just forgot to mention the 1 year for provisional.
thanks.
...............:grad: ...............congratulations !!! one more step down.
.......:hpygrp:.......
when i tested (aanp) at the end a message popped up: ...you appear to have passed... does the test still do that?
was the test all multiple choice or has the format changed?
i tested with the pncb, because i am a pediatric nurse practitioner. it did did tell me that i passed at the end (immediately after). it was a multiple choice test.

Hopefully you've heard something by now, but I can tell you that this is very common this year. I precept NP students and over one half of the new graduating class still haven't received their letters to test! I found out that there is a record number of NP's graduating this year and the AANP and the ANCC are seriously understaffed...especially the AANP. I know people who mailed their application to the AANP BACK IN MARCH so they could test during the summer "window," and they still haven't heard a word. Hopefully, you can work as a NP-Graduate in your state.
