NP school or pharmacy
I agree...don't do np school then pharmacy school, lots of work and expense. You may want to research the job market in your area - are there more pharmacists or np's needed? Then ask yourself what are your goals, and what do you enjoy doing? Most important, do what you enjoy most because you will be doing it for a LONG time!!!! good luck :)

Advice on how to locate preceptors for NP clinics
I found my preceptors through cold calls to the clinics. Most were receptive because the hours can count as part of licensure / ceu requirements.

This is absolutely horrible!!!
There are several cardiology openings in my location which is Southern Ohio. If interested check out KDMC in Ashland Kentucky for job descriptions. Something will come along...don't give up hope.

ANCC continuine education requirements
FYI: I found my answer: it was buried in Ohio law website. Can't state boards make the websites user friendly?!!! Anyhow, for Ohio requirements I will need 6 hrs of pharm (prorated) otherwise it is 12 hours every 2 years.

ANCC continuine education requirements
I have been a np for about 9 months. I am trying to get ceu's organized and sorted out. I thought I read somewhere that there is a pharmacology contact hour requirement, but I don't see anything about it on the website. Am I dreaming this?! I also can not find any mention on the state requirements re: pharmacology (Ohio). Thanks for any input

CNS review course
Does anyone know how Fitzgerald review cd's and book compare to the ANCC exam? Or Amelie Hollier's certification prep exam book?

Can NP work right after passing exam
Christvs...It took 2 months from when I mailed the application to get my notification of when I could sit for the test. I am not sure when they received my transcripts from the college. (I received the initial letter that they recieved everything about 4 - 6 wks after I mailed the app.) Now I am wishing it didn't come so soon!!!! Now the countdown begins.... Good luck to you!

Anyone pay cash for NP school?
It is possible to go to school without debt. I did it without any loans or debt. Go over your finances with a fine tooth comb and see what you can save and cut back on. I was able to save enough to get me through school for 3 years. I started off with about 5K in savings and $500.00 a month for tuition. It just makes me sick to think I was wasting all that money a month.

help i am torn between a job offer
Other offers will come along. I live in a small area. I just graduated and was afraid there would be no jobs. My first offer sounds like yours and I almost took it. I am glad the MD office is S..L..O..W to respond, because I got 3 more (and better) offers in the meantime. Otherwise I would have accepted and been miserable (lots of hours) I am not a negotiater either, but I have been forcing myself and have gotten better deals. I believe the employer expects you to negotiate.

Is this bonus offer far fetched?
Thanks for the info. I would be doing injections. I just felt that it was just about impossible reach the bonus. There are no more details in the contract about the bonus other than i provided. (The whole contract is vague. The attorneys are re-doing it. But I have a feeling it not include everything I wanted clarified. Example...MD wants me to do call every 3 months but it is not included in the contract. I just have a bad feeling about it.)

Is this bonus offer far fetched?
I have an offer for a base salary of $75,000 plus a bonus incentive of 40% of receipts collected over $210,000. It is very busy orthopaedic practice. I am not concerned if I bonus, but I think it would not be possible to even bonus. Am I off track in my thinking? I was told the average visit would be billed at $65.00.
