Can I call the board???

Published

I took my Nclex PN exam May 2nd. A friend of mine also took hers the same day. She received her results last week sometime and found out she passed. I, on the otherhand, am still waiting. Why am I waiting to receive the results?...because I am having issues with the court in obtaining the needed documents for my conviction ( petty theft incident when I was 18). I'm not too worried the board will deny me a license after reviewing the documents.

What I'm wanting to know is can I call the board to find out my results?? I want to know if I passed or not because if I didn't I want to prepare to take it again ( although I've already began studying again just in case haha).

I'm so anxious and I know they have the results but I don't want to bug them.

the BRN will not be able to tell you over the phone your results. May not mean anything that your friend received her results before you. PN results I believe for Ca on average takes 4-6 weeks so may be worth just waiting a bit longer.

I know the wait is longer in CA but my real question is will the board ONLY release my results of the test AFTER I've sent in the documents they are requesting ( arrest report/court documents etc)? I've been waiting over 2 weeks for the court to send me the papers and the police report...they said I can't even get that and the board will need to contact them regarding that matter. soo frustrating but I know it's my fault...should never have commited the crime in the first place.

Until your file is complete they will not release your results.

Until your file actually goes thru a separate review, they are not going to tell you anything or tell you how you did on the exam. Your file is automatically routed thru a special board for approval, and pending that outcome is when they will let you know. Do not expect anything to be done earlier.

And depending what the conviction was for, they can also have you wait and have your file reviewed by the Board when they meet and that is not every week, but more like monthly or longer.

You are just going to need to be patient, there is not anything that can be done any quicker.
