Can hospitals find out my work history? If I leave off a job from my resume, is there any way they can find out?

Yes, they can find out, through various means, including word of mouth.

They can BUT may not check that closely. If it is a short period. the other problem is that if they find out later then they can say that you lied on initial application. I had a job for 6 weeks and I have never put it on my resume just to avoid silly questions.

Not really -after they do the Criminal Check it is usually over most places are to cheap to go any further. Like CoTTER said," word of mouth." Nursing is a huge community , but actually small. Like the " Original Facebook " Always keep another job like Agency , part-time , etc. . just in case you have to make a run for it or tell someone where to go lol. You can use that part time job to fill that empty spot on your resume.

Yup. Most of my jobs have found out every single job I ever held even though I didn't put it on my resume. I left them off because in high school / college I changed jobs every 6 months and there just isn't space so I put on the relevant ones. I did lose a job for leaving something off because they assumed I was hiding something and didn't want an employee that started off on a bad foot.

I had one for about 3 minutes and bingo there it was when performance review came up several years later.
