Basic nurses are called LVNs (licensed vocational nurses) in California. They are called LPNs in 48 other US states with the exception of Texas.

You can try. You would apply for LVN licensure by examination which means after the board asseses your qualifications, you will be allowed to take the NCLEX-PN.
According to this application packet (click on the blue link), you could use Method#3 which basically allows your foreign nursing program and experience as a nurse to be assessed by the California Board of Vocational Nursing. If deemed equivalent, you may take the board exam for LVN's. Make sure all documents have a certified English translation.
Thanks for Your answers!
I just read "application packet"
I have already applied for RN Board, and there is a specific form for foreign graduates (i have already sent transcription and certificated translation and i'm waiting their answer), is there a specific form for LVN also?
I think that I Will Phone LVN to be sure that i Will Apply correctly :-)
