I was wondering what other certifications we can get, and how I could go about applying for them (whether it was through work or through school). Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sure. You can go to an AHA or ARC provider and take CPR. You can take a phlebotomy course. You could take a course in becoming an OR tech. You could take coursework to become a PT aide (PTA). There are bazillions of opportunities out there. What did you have in mind? Could you expand on that question?
I wasn't looking for anything specific, just wondering what other options their were. Thanks for the information it was great help. :)

Depending on where you live, you can be certified to pass meds, give insulin, phlebotomy, etc. In my hospital, CNAs who work in the ER (they call them ER techs) are trained to put in foley catheters, draw blood, do EKGs, splints, etc. You can also take a class (sometimes online) to be certified as a palliative care tech.
