I'm new here and i am not really sure where to post this. I just started my registration with cgfns and i got stuck in the part where i had to choose the profession i am seeking evaluation for.
I did a 3 years nursing program in my country Nigeria and I'm licensed to work as a nurse here but I'm also aware that a Bsn degree is the minimum requirement to practice as a nurse in usa. I am sure that if i choose to have my credentials evaluated for Bsn or Rn equivalent it will not be comparable to u.s standards hence i will also like to be evaluated for lpn too but the problem is that i am finding it difficult to choose both lpn and rn in the option page. I have to choose either one of them
I don't know what to do anymore. Should i continue with the Rn choice since that is what i started with in the first application page that can't be changed then order for another service choosing lpn? Or should i just register again with a different email and choose the lpn profession even though i have a license that allows me practice as a nurse?
Secondly, Everyone keeps telling me to choose Texas as it is easier and faster to get licensed there, is this true? And since it's a nursing compact state will i be eligible to receive a compact license and get travel nurse jobs? The weather is another discouraging factor as i would have loved somewhere with mild four Seasons. If I get licensed in texas, how soon can i move out and get endorsed in another state?

You do not need to be a BSN for the US. That is just a requirement when looking at H1b or at least 12 years nursing experience I would just go with RN with CGFNS
Thanks but don't you think i have a better chance of being approved as an lpn than RN? Even some Filipino bsn holders can't get approved and i really don't want to waste time and money only to discover that my credentials are not equivalent to us RN.
Where are you now? Compact license for Texas will only be given if you are a permanent resident of Texas ie your primary address is in Texas
I am still in my Nigeria. Does this mean that i will be given a single state license and not be able to do travel nursing assignments?

Correct. Only permanent residents of compact states are afforded multi-state compact privilege. LPN does not qualify for most work visas
This is so sad . If lpn does not qualify for most work visas then there is no need to apply for it. I'm so confused. If i continue with Rn application and get the 'not satisfactory' report, what next?
For both immigrant and ork visa you must be a RN. I would suggest you just apply for RN and see what happens
Ok thanks. For my second question, is it adviseable to go through Texas? Or is there another state that has good weather conditions and won't stress me out? Preferably one that is receptive to Africans.
