Can anyone look in a Braslow pedi crash cart for me?

For one of my assignments I am supposed to say what color code my patient would have for this pedi crash cart. My preceptor said we couldn't open the crash cart. Huh?? Anyway, if someone could look in one for me and tell me what color my kiddos would be, that woudl be helpful. What good is a crash cart if you can't open it in a hurry? or at all?

Any way, I need to know what color code a 12.19 lbs and a 5.78 lbs patient would have. Thanks if you are able to help me out!

The Broselow tape is on the outside of the cart or bag, and should be accessible to you.

Broselows go by kilos and length. You lay the baby down along the tape and get an estimated weight by length.

Gray zone is 3, 4 and 5 kilos. Pink is 6 kilos.

Your 12.19 pounder is about 5.5 kilos, so its a tossup between gray and pink.

The 5.78 pounds is definiately a gray.

Hi,

You should always have the Broselow tape on the outside of your cart/baroselow bag. I have chosen to laminate ours in the unit so it is already opened at length and hangs on a hook with the cart. The lamination is thin enough that it doesn't interfere with viewing the information, and is always available for staff to reference too.
