Try calling your BON regarding licensure. I'm assuming however, if you didn't receive a license in the mail, that you may not have passed the second time.
I took both the LPN & RN Nclex exams, and I don't remember the LPN boards being much easier. It did have more technical questions, though.
Try the Kaplan NCLEX review course- it is well worth the money. It not only helps you to study the material, but gives valuable test-taking strategies. I highly recommend it.
I hope you find some relief from your personal problems. If it helps any, I ended up homeless in a town where I knew few people (long story) when I was in LPN school. I was depressed, dejected, alone with a small child, and had almost no self-esteem at the time. Do this for yourself- it was a turning point for me to take those boards and get that license. After that, nothing could stop me (and it hasn't). You can do this- don't let anyone take it away from you, even yourself. Pour yourself into it, if you can. You might find it a great escape from your problems.
Good luck and hugs to you. I've been there, and believe me it's so worth it.

In California they don't have rapid results, so it really hasn't been that long since you took it, so you can't presume you failed until you get your results. I'm nto sure how they do it in Calfironia, but call the BON.

Maybe you need to change your way of studying or review old notes from class. This is why its so important to be organized during school and through out life. If your finances require that you work then yes being a CNA in the mean time would be a good option. Why waste all the money and time you took to become an rn to downgrade to LPN? Your feeling a sense of discouragement and thats ok...it happens to the best of us. Maybe contacting your teachers and see if they have something.

A couple of questions for you:
Do you in fact have a SSN#? If not, then you do not see you name on the CA BRN website at all. You get your results by mail, and results do not get mailed out until 2 1/2 weeks after testing.
Does not matter what has happened with your friends, each file is reviewed on an individual basis. And even if you have SSN#, the average length of time to see if you passed or not is ten days, and you have not even gotten to that point yet. And it can take up to one month.
CA does not have early results, never have and doubt that they ever will.
Would focus on passing the NCLEX exam, it can be done. And unless you really need to work, then suggest that you focus on getting thru that exam. Working in a different role when you wish to be an RN will not help you in anyway in most cases.
If you are in CA, the average waiting time is ten whole days. Only in rare instance will you see it in three days, that is definitely not the norm in CA or actually many other states.
You only took the exam on Tuesday, and any state office is closed on Saturday.

We are trying to help you, it would be nice if you would acknowledge what we have asked in order to help you.
Do you in fact have a SSN#? If not, then you always have to wait a few weeks to receive the letter, you will never see your name posted if you have not provided them with that.
And yes, you can get thru the exam this next time, but you do not even know for a fact that you did not pass it. You have not been notified that you did not make it, and it has not even been 10 days yet if I remember correctly.
I have helped nurses get thru this exam that graduated 20 years ago and never tested, or those that have tested 10 times or more, and they have gotten thru first time with my help.
In order to sit for the NCLEX-PN exam, you need to take the time to prepare for that. You do not have LPN/LVNs in your country, so how do you truly know what they can do and cannot do? Why prepare for an exam when you can put the same time into passing the RN exam, what you trained for? Makes no sense to me at all.
You came here looking for help and we are trying to do just that, but you need to give us the information so that we can help you. That is how we do things here.
Oops- When the OP said "last July...," I thought she meant last year. Duh.:trout:
