Cambridge Healthcare

Published

Hi there!

I am a foreign nurse aspiring to go to America. Can anyone tell me of any information about Cambridge Healthcare? It's base is in MD. I would like to know if it's a good agency. I believe they're somewhere in Baltimore.

Thanks a lot.

i communicate with them thru email. Sir brian said they'll try to deploy me within my visa terms but i have only 6 months left in my visa validity. Not sure what's gonna happen with that short visa validity. anyways,do uyou know what;s the basis for deployment--i mean, who/what determines who gets deployed first and next and last??? i know it doesn't depend on who gets their visa first or whose visa's about to expire... so it must be who gets chosen by the facility...is that right?

as I understand to the present situation, their deployment depends on visa term validity, then when we arrived there there'll be orientation and interviews to determine your hospital assignment.....so i guess, they need to get you ASAP or else your visa will expire and need to move on....do you have back-up plan?

yup. i'm considering applying in UK. But my IELTS is already expired, so i guess i have to retake it:( I had offers in UK before but I declined because it takes a while before I could get my family. But I'm willing to take my chances now. I heard it only takes 6 months to get your dependents. plus your spouse could work there even under dependent visa. Sounds better than our US working visa. But for now, I'll wait for CHC to deploy me within my visa terms. Just don't wanna have what if's/regrets, whatsoever. I just have to exhaust my chances in getting to US though CHC. If not, I'll push through with my back up plan and give up my american dream for a while. How about you? What's your back up plan and what's your sitch? Thanks for replying BTW, not that misery loves company.

Hi Mitch! it's been a long time since we had a chat! lol.... I can't believe how many we really are waiting to be deployed! I think it'll take a year before we have a comprehensible answer from CHC. It's been months, since we found out that our supposedly October deployment was all a crack. Now we are still waiting in vain! Wicked princess is doing the right thing, It would be wiser having another plan just in case all of our time-investments and efforts with CHC don't work out. I my self had other applications elsewhere, but it's not yet due for CHC to give up. My latest e-mail received from Brian says that one of their facilities MAYBE interested in hiring nurses. That they are just waiting for the specifics and will be having their updates in the next few weeks. Well, I hope this is the start of the things turning out right for us. My friend who had been waiting to be hired since they were deployed last January is keeping his fingers crossed as well as the others so they can start on working. He told me how dreadful it was being on that situation where you are not sure of what will happen to them since nothing sensible really was happening to them after completion of trainings and orientations. His latest update was they were all back to Maryland from vacation from different states and somehow looking forward to seeing themselves already working in a facility in the next months. What I heard is that CHC passed them on to Medpro which i think is one of their partners many years way back. Well i hope when it's our time to be deployed, work is already there so we don't have to experience what the 5 RN january depolys had gone through...

let's just be focused..

Hello.

Again, its been busy but I am happy to report that the 4 nurses have started work thru MedPro and are all working in Palmetto General Hospital at the ICU department. All 4 have their own apartments now and are starting their 2-week preceptorship.

I agree with all the things said here by the other posters. Please explore all possibilities.

There are SO MUCH NEED for nurses here. (in Palmetto Gen alone, they need more nurses in ICU)

Try to go through all avenues and explore them, such as other agencies, appliying direct, etc.

A group of nurses from another agency paid for all their expenses amounting to almost $10,000 just to get here.

The nurses thru CHC are lucky that they did not pay a single cent.

I think CHC office in MD is being closed down since they were bought by Paragon.

I dont know exactly what is happening but you can just imagine the turmoil that happened...

Anyway, only 15000 H1B applications have been submitted to USCIS since April and there are a lot more that's available. So I suggest to pin your hopes on just one agency that does not reply or update their recruits.

Good luck!

You can send me a personal email thru [email protected] if you have further questions.

I could take this event positively....at least something had happened...good for the 4 RNs....I just do hope this will be a commencement of good things to come for US (waiting RNs):):yeah::redbeathe:redpinkhe:up:

dear sgtmack,

thanks for your helpful information which gives me a lot of confidence & hope.:)

i signed the contract with chc at the end of 2008. i was informed by brian that my file was transfered to the attorney in aug.2009. but it still not be filing as many cases were denied at the uscis processing centers. it seems more difficult to me than others who are waiting for deployment from chc. you mentioned that "chc office in md is being closed down since they were bought by paragon". do you think it is still possible for me to get my h1b visa by chc in future? i have wrote to brian but no response. i am really very anxious and confused about the future. :crying2: many thanks!

I dont think CHC/Paragon will be submitting new applications for H1B nurses anymore.

There's still one RN in MD waiting for deployment!

I suggest you go through some other agency or better yet contact hospitals directly.

Always be emotionally and financially prepared since there is nothing such as a sure thing...

BTW, make sure you have SOLID specialty area experience!

Thanks for your advice! Do you think Paragon will keep recruiting RN in future?

hi SgtMack,

What do you think we can do to explore other possibilities? we were all tied up with CHC? I even tried asking if I could apply on other facilities since nothing's happening to our status. I mean what's the use of having a Visa when you ca not enjoy using it?Now you are saying that CHC office in Maryland was bought by Paragon? I believe we should not just rely on an agency that just give updates!...

Palmetto General Hospital is under Tenet right? I have been applying and inquiring there since 2008 and they were not answering my quiries.I have been an ICU nurse for more than 4 years now. Do you think, if we will be deployed in the coming monThs, we will be passed on to medpro? CHC should have given the 4 RNs earlier to medpro so they didn't have to wait any longer!

Thanks!

not in the near future

hi SgtMack,

First of all dont give up.

In my opinion CHC has breeched all their contracts for a number of reasons.

So find other agencies or lawyers or hospitals willing to sponsor your H1B visa.

You can actually use your visa to come over here but you might find it hard to transfer the visa. (please research on H1B transfer for those who do not understand)

So you should get a new H1B sponsor and visa.

The catch is that when you apply with the USCIS it is not a sure thing! So you should consider this very carefully.

I do not know why CHC did not use MedPro sooner but there was one guy thru Focus that was transferred directly and went to Florida directly without going thru CHC not MD.

So... its up to you.
