Hi there!
I am a foreign nurse aspiring to go to America. Can anyone tell me of any information about Cambridge Healthcare? It's base is in MD. I would like to know if it's a good agency. I believe they're somewhere in Baltimore.
Thanks a lot.

Hi SgtMack,
Do you know the guy who went there directly? How did he do that? well i believe, focus won't release our passports and visas just that easy. i believe it needs a very concrete reason and explanation. One thing more, if we got there without CHC's knowing, we might get out of status, and possibly deportation by USCIS utmost. how did the guy from focus did it? Do you know other facilities who hire RNs with the kind of visas we have?

hi sgtmack!
i dont know you personally.. just a finger snap and i got here allnurses.com forum. i have learned that you have idea of what is our status here in the philippines and some candidates who was sent to md.
by the way
i am a chc candiate also thru focus, like them i do have a problem same thing with the other candidates. my visa validity was only for a year unfortunately or should i say fortunately it will expire this september 30. i am anxious because i do not know if i still can pass to this bridge or i'll be kept hanging till recession gone. i'm waiting for almost 8mos. and worst i resigned from my work as icu-supervisor since chc gave me a tentative date of deployment sept21 of last year. i really dont know what's goin on, i have no idea about chc office closed down and bought by paragon. can you please give me some idea about this.
i still have 4 mos. left and this short period of time, dunno if there still chances of deployment.
i kept on sending emails to brian.. but the usual feedback still not yet finalize and ur cv was send to many facility and waiting for their response.. 8mos. of not yet finalize..
i'm sorry if i sounds really desperate.
i want to move on and proceed to my plan b.. but i dont know wer will i start since i have no idea if chc will release me without any obligations with them..
do you think we're still be deploy?
tnx so much!

hi CHINITA RN,
im also from focus waiting for my deployment..we have same case i resigned from my job last year because they told me they're going to deploy us last Oct. they should tell us whats really happening there if their closing down we have the right to know i personally sent email to sgt. mack and he said we can go there using our visa ( were going to buy our own ticket) do u think its possible? im scared they might hold me in the airport immigration. and also i already talked to another agency ( direct there in u.s) they're will sponsor my transfer of employer ( to them ) without spending anything, they have their lawyer of course. sg. mack send me email regarding those nurses went there and spent $10k. i think we shoud'nt wait for nothing. we waited to long already we need to do our plan b now. i have a friend also connected to chc but she was denied for h1b visa she already have her documents she requested another copy of her visa screen and all. maybe we can do that also you can send me personal email [email protected] i want to talk to you personally.
thanks,
To: shasha14

Hello. Quick Update. Last April 2 2010, Patti Mowery (Director of Education and Recruitment Consultant Cambridge Healthcare) emailed me to revise my resume to include any ICU experience I've had. Im an ER nurse. I did revise my resume and along with it i asked if there are still no job positions available for me. She replied " It is not safe to say there are no job positions available for you. Finding placement is a little more difficult due to the the economy, however there are still needs for nurses with your experience. We have presented your resume, and continue to present it to many of our facilities. We hope to have good news for you soon. From Patti" To that I said thanks and hoping for a positive feedback. I dont know what to make of it. I am barely keeping my hopes up. It's been 5 months of waiting (since November). I resigned from my job already! To those who resigned from their jobs due to CHC's promise of deployment, where are you now and what are your plan Bs?

Shasha14, you go at your own risk of being deported and banned! I just want to make sure you understand the worst possible outcome! The agency that you talk about cannot legally transfer your H1B because one of the requirements are payslips from the original employer. Please do not be swayed by sweet talk for a second time. If it sounds too good to be true then it is! PLEASE DO NOT USE MY NAME IN PROVIDING ADVISE TO ANYBODY! You took my message to you out of context.

Hello to all those also waiting for updates from CHC. All we need is transparency of CHC to make us aware of what's the real situation-- we can only wait til sept and we will know if they have jobs for us. I just want to ask if any of you heard of Global Healthcare who also offers RN jobs under H1B visa? Might be a good option if CHC fails ( i hope not)
Accdg to an article i read:
"The shortage of nurses has eased due to the economic downturn. Nationwide, nurses are delaying retirement, moving from part-time to full time jobs, and putting off career changes. And some who left work are now returning in order to cover expenses when their spouses have lost their jobs. In addition, some hospitals have laid off workers or even closed. However, hospital nursing executives say that the shortage is still very real, especially in rural areas, and they worry about the future. "One of my major fears is that people will feel that the nursing shortage is ending," said Lynn Whisman, chief nursing officer at Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga. "There is a lull right now, but it is going to be a short-term lull, and the nursing shortage is going to get even worse."
So let us not lose hope, guys. Maybe they're really just finding it difficult to place us. What we can do is continue praying and continue the faith.
