Hi all,
I have posted a few times about my worries on getting into a nursing program and just wanted to share that I got accepted to Watts School of Nursing in Durham. I am so excited and I was wondering if any Watts students (or from other programs) had any advice on how they have gone about financing their education. I never had to deal with financial aid when I got my undergrad a few years ago and Watts is pretty pricey, (about $30,000). I plan to do the tuition reimbursement program with Duke when I graduate but I'm worried about what to do right now. Any advice on financial aid or private loan experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!:heartbeat
Mind you, those new "scrubs" are still nothing special! The fabric is very thick and the pants never look right, but oh well...atleast they have made some progress!
Yes, the dresses were horrible...We had them as part of our uniform, but I always opted to wear the pantsuit during clinicals- There was no way I'd be caught DEAD wearing a dress in a hospital!
Hey guys. Took my test at Watts on the 17th. Just waiting to hear back now. And does anyone know of ANYPLACE hiring for any clinic or hospital registration/secretary positions? Im trying to find something pt or ft and applied at DUKE, they are taking forever. Rex doesn't usually have anything like that. Im not a MA or CNA. Ive been in registration and a unit clerk for the past several years in the ER in Ohio but cant seem to land anything here. I know the economy sucks but, just thought id ask. I'll keep you guys posted on the test.
Hey guys-I PASSED MY TEST! AAAAAAHHHHHH I CANT BELIEVE IT! Whew....Im so happy. Got my envelope today. Now I have to get all my stuff sent in asap. Started on some of it. Now my only concern is financial aid. Im trying to not work and just go to school. Any info on financial aid would be great. and let me just say THANK YOU to Kellmoiselle, Reecee, Lilloman's encouragement and tips on the test, and everyone on here. I know that sounds like a exceptance speech! lol but this is huge for me as it is for everyone on here. Thanks guys =)

She hates it too.
The current uniform is the blue/white scrubs.
Only those that had been issued the dress have to wear the dress. I think the current 3rd semester cohort is the last for that. Or maybe it's 2nd semester.
So, you lucked out :)
