Calling any Watts School of Nursing Students!!!

Published

Hi all,

I have posted a few times about my worries on getting into a nursing program and just wanted to share that I got accepted to Watts School of Nursing in Durham. I am so excited and I was wondering if any Watts students (or from other programs) had any advice on how they have gone about financing their education. I never had to deal with financial aid when I got my undergrad a few years ago and Watts is pretty pricey, (about $30,000). I plan to do the tuition reimbursement program with Duke when I graduate but I'm worried about what to do right now. Any advice on financial aid or private loan experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!:heartbeat

Yeah, I'm waiting on "the call" too! Let me know if they call you! I'll do the same.

I passed my test!:yeah:

Is it better to bring my application packet in person or mail it? Now I am nervous all over again!

Super big Congrats TIB72!!!!

I passed too!!! Yay!!!! :yeah:

My :redbeathe is still pounding from opening the mail!! Lol

Tib: admin at watts seems pretty put together, I'm sure mail would suffice as long as everything has your name on it.

Do us old foggies need high school transcripts as well ? Or just the college ones?

Lady- CONGRATS!!! :yeah: now let the stress of waiting for the background check and admission process begin!!! lol... just kidding... good luck guys!!!! Hurry up and get those applications in!!!!

Lady... what's considered old fogey? Yes... you have to submit your high school stuff....

Well, those of us that are in our 30's are "old" compared to recent highschool grads. Lol

I've been out of school so long that it feels weird to ask for my HS transcript.

Thanks jeepinjed!! Tell me about it- now it's a whole new stress to deal with!! Gotta move on my pAcket of papers asap!!!!

Lady- Now that I start in May i'm sweating bullets again... I have to admit being the only guy in my test and probably the oldest one there was a precursor to what I can expect as a nurse! I'll be 34 years young when i start... I understand the high school transcript thing... i got them in the mail and was so embarrassed... luckily my college transcripts proved otherwise... i was 30 when i went back to school and found it a lot easier being more mature... Now drink your Ensure and knock out your application! lol
