Calling any Watts School of Nursing Students!!!

Published

Hi all,

I have posted a few times about my worries on getting into a nursing program and just wanted to share that I got accepted to Watts School of Nursing in Durham. I am so excited and I was wondering if any Watts students (or from other programs) had any advice on how they have gone about financing their education. I never had to deal with financial aid when I got my undergrad a few years ago and Watts is pretty pricey, (about $30,000). I plan to do the tuition reimbursement program with Duke when I graduate but I'm worried about what to do right now. Any advice on financial aid or private loan experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!:heartbeat

I am so nervous. I think I did good though. My husband is more nervous than I am. I'll let you know how I did. Hope you don't have to fly out again. Last time I got to the 2nd paragraph and I was just short a few right answers. So you have a pretty good chance. Let me know.

Lol you're poor hubby... You've stressed him out to oblivion!! Maybe our guys can have a drink together to vent about us! Lol

Oh, let's hope you're right... I hope I did well enough! Fingers are still crossed.

Hoping all you guys did good! It's really hard to actually know how the test is until you actually take it... i've heard the first time the test takes you!

You so right... The test def takes you! What makes it so darn hard is that book they say we should study from...it's very overwhelming and doesn't really reflect what is on the exam.

I totally agree... the book is kind of misleading... without a time limit the word problems wouldn't be such a big deal... any portion of the test for that matter... but the time crunch!!! found the word problems to be a bit more than i had expected! and i feel for your hubby... my wife is in a nursing program and has driven me batty!!! lol...

You and your wife will be going at the same time? Wow!

I used a book from Learning Express and it was great. I don't think it is possible to prepare for the reading though. Hope to see you in June Jed.

That's nuts, you both are going to nursing school at the same time?? INSANE!!

Good Luck to everyone who is awaiting results! WSON is an awesome program--I am in my 2nd semester (1st semester of Watts) and have really enjoyed every moment so far! :redbeathe
