Good day! I hope all is well!! Are there any other non-traditional nursing students on here who are in route to becoming a nurse?! I hope to inspire those who have a lot on their plates and feel as though they need some inspiration, including myself......so let's band together in optimism and inspire one another!!!

I'm excited but I need 11 liberal arts and science classes. That's gonna take me around 1 and a half years. I want to take spanish as well.

The time will pass.....trust me! I think taking Spanish will give you an edge over other applicants once you are applying for nursing jobs. Go for it!!

Great minds think alike! That's 3/4 the reason I want to learn spanish. They have spanish for heathcare books but without foundation id mess up with a patient and who knows what id say:D

Hi! 22 years old with a 19mo little girl:) I was in school for pre-pharmacy until I got pregnant.. then decided I couldn't dedicate 7yrs+ to school. And deff couldn't transfer out-of-state once my pre-reqs were done. Sooo I've been taking my pre reqs for the ADN program at my local college and I start officially next fall!(:

Congratulations! I love my lil man but I wanted a girl. I'm gonna try 4 a girl later. 22 is young so when she gets older you can always go back and complete it. What support system you have set up? Daycare?

Thank you!! I'm planning to have my ADN by the times she's ready for preschool.. fingers crossed! Then while she's in school hopefully I can get my BSN!

Right now, I'm taking all online courses so luckily I get to stay home with her:) But I know that can't be the case once I'm in the program.. So my mom is gonna babysit for me!

Ugh I want another girl too!! They're so much fun to dress up ;D you're gonna love it lol. She's my mini-me

Sounds like a good plan. My mom and sister are gonna babysit for while im doing prerequisites. We haven't talked about when I transfer to Chamberlain.

I've heard if your not highly motivated then taking online classes can not go well since its easy to be distracted by the kids. Not saying that will happen to you, just what I heard. When I'm writing scholarship papers he tries to pull them away from me. Hes used to all the attention.

I know! I shop when I'm excited so before shes born shed have a million outfits and hair clips and headbands lol

I'm glad to hear that your first semester has been a success!!!! Your grades are flawless!!!!! I too, am wrapping up my fall semester. I am in my final semester before I start clincals as well as fundamentals, health assessment, pharmacology, transcultural and dosage calculations. I am also looking forward to this Christmas break. I need it!!!

Thanks! I just found out that I got an A in both of my classes :)

That'll be exciting clinicals! How long do you get for Christmas break? I have 4 weeks. The kids will still go to daycare a couple of days a week to keep them in somewhat of a routine (plus I don't want to yank them out for a month and then toss them back in - I'm not sure how they (or at least my daughter) would do. During my break (besides SOME relaxation) I'm going to get my first semester stuff organized and hopefully get started on some next semester stuff. I mean, my break should be all about the kids and relaxing and catching the house up, but I feel like if I can get a bit of a head start, I'll get to spend a little more time with them during the semester and be able to help a little more around the house instead focusing 95% of the time on schoolwork.

How has your 9 year old been doing with you in school?
