California's 2010 New Grad RN Program

Published

2010 is fast approaching so I think there must be a new thread for 2010 new grad program. I hope the moderators will allow me to post this new thread. I'm currently working at Monrovia Memorial Hospital which is 40 miles away from our apt. We live here in Playa del Rey, near the LAX and unfortunately I don't drive yet. I'm looking for any hospitals that offers new grad program for next year. I'm not even sure if I'm still qualified for a new grad program because it will be my 8th month this Jan. working at Monrovia Memorial. Anyone could share any info..Thanks..

No Jyaa I haven't heard anything either and now after reading this I'm discouraged. Congrats newgradnurse!!! They did say they would call either way so I guess I'll try not to stress.

Well if you haven't heard anything then I'm not going to get discouraged because they are still calling people! Keep your hopes up! :D

That's what my mom told me. She asked if the other person who got a call applied to the same postion I applied too. I will keep my hopes up maybe they got busy or went in alphabetical order something, lol. My biggest fear is that they called everyone that was offered a position today and then everyone who gets sorry not at this time on Tuesday. I will be so sad if I waited the whole weekend for bad news.

Okay let me get back to positive thinking. When the both of us get a call and they say congrats we are offering you the position when we start I hope I get to meet you so I can thank you personally for keeping me encouraged.

I know that's my fear too but like you said let's keep thinking positive, I mean you have a pretty impressive resume, you have your ACLS and CNA experience right? I think that was you anyways, and I hope I can meet you as well. It would be awesome if we could both get the job.

Newgradnurse2010: Did you apply internally? and if you don't mind me asking when was your interview? I'm just wondering if they are going in order with interviews or what. Do you anyone else that got a call today? because I want to assume that they should have called us all today regardless of whether we got a position or not. Thanks for all the info.:)

Yes I have ACLS and CNA experience. It really would be great. Also thanks for bringing up those questions to Newgradnurse because I am/was thinking the same thing. I'm assuming they aren't finished as well because she did say HR is good about calling ppl either way.

Please don't get discouraged! you will get a job. Just keep your spirits up! It is tough right now, but many people have gone through these kind of times. Hang in there, and it will all work out fo you.

I had my interview on the 14th at 1pm. I don't have ACLS or CNA experience. I went to an ABSN and it was my second degree. I did however work in a restaurant for 10 years and they seemed to be into making sure the patient comes first and guest satisfaction so maybe that helped?

I really think being positive is the most important thing right now. I don't know why I got chosen because I felt like I was a mess in the interview! Don't give up hope, PLEASE! Everything happens for a reason and if you don't get this job, it means you are meant to be in a better place for you. Let me know if I can answer any questions or if I can be of ANY help! (I wish you all could come with me :stdnrsrck:)

Really I had mine at 9am that same day. Thanks for the encouragement.

I won't give up hope I guess I can wait until Tuesday. I just want the hunt for a job to be over I graduated since December and besides this interview I've had 2 others but my odds haven't been this good, so we'll see they eventually have to call :)

I've been watching this thread, I too applied. AND I GOT THE JOB!!! I was hired on 1E at Rancho. Any insight or anything I should expect? What type of floor is it?

Thanks

Nope, not yet. They probably just didn't have enough time to call everyone. :)
