2010 is fast approaching so I think there must be a new thread for 2010 new grad program. I hope the moderators will allow me to post this new thread. I'm currently working at Monrovia Memorial Hospital which is 40 miles away from our apt. We live here in Playa del Rey, near the LAX and unfortunately I don't drive yet. I'm looking for any hospitals that offers new grad program for next year. I'm not even sure if I'm still qualified for a new grad program because it will be my 8th month this Jan. working at Monrovia Memorial. Anyone could share any info..Thanks..
New grad Versant program at Palo Alto VA - application period from July 1-11, 2010. Tentative start date in September.
Part of their requirement is that you be a "new RN grad within last year from date of application". I came across this with the Stanford app as well. I think it is rather disappointing that they are not opening the door for those who will have been looking for employment for more than a year. Many of us have not been able to secure hospital employment in the past year because of the extremely limited new grad openings in CA and it seems unfair that this restriction exists. Hopefully, recruiters will recognize this and give "old-new grads" a chance.
Not to discourage anyone, but the postings at Loma Linda University will probably be filled by nurses who graduated from their own nursing program, otherwise they tend to "cancel" them even though so many people apply.
Apply, but make certain to look at other jobs and don't get completely set on that hospital.

Its good karma. No need to be stingy. I guarantee you they will easily get over 700 plus applicants from bay area nursing students. Couple more wouldn't hurt.
