Hello everyone, I wanted to make a forum for us applying to Sacramento State's Spring 2025 cohort for the BSN program to hopefully discuss the application and maybe some other questions we have. It might be helpful for us and future applicants as well!

I just submitted my application with 72 points as long as my health care hours count (medical scribe for 4+ years) and my classes from my previous college transfer over! I have a 4.0 adjusted GPA, 94.0% on the TEAS, and hopefully 8 optional points eee. If all goes well, I'll probably be waitlisted based on the last four semesters. I'm more concerned about admission to the university because my bachelor's GPA was bad but hopefully I can appeal that if I get accepted into the nursing program. Two more months!

Honestly, based on the last 7 semesters per their Applicant Pool Statistics, I think as long as the stats are about the same, you should be good! The point cut-offs have been around 70-71 since Fall 2021 (71 points in the last two semesters) so I think anything 73+ should be good :) But once again, just depends on the applicants this time around!

Is there a reason why your health care hours would not count?

It's just because I know some schools don't consider a medical scribe as health care experience due to limited human-client interaction. The application form for Sac State also said "human-client interaction required" and while I didn't directly touch the patients, I did talk to them about their care without the doctor present. I did ask if being a medical scribe counted when I was at one of the workshops and they said it does count so I think I'm just overthinking it LOL.

Honestly I have no clue. I think at a workshop, she did mention that they verified the information so they must have someone checking on applicants' backgrounds!

I think they get the information from your application and maybe your academic history? I was thinking about this too since I am a first gen student and the only place where it's verified is on my Cal State App and academic record since high school.

My stats are the same as yours! 4.0 GPA and 92.7% on TEAS so I'm applying with 77 points total!
