Hello everyone, I wanted to make a forum for us applying to Sacramento State's Spring 2025 cohort for the BSN program to hopefully discuss the application and maybe some other questions we have. It might be helpful for us and future applicants as well!

I'm also hoping I can do the bilingual proficiency exam, but I'm afraid I won't pass because I've been so rusty with my second language over the years 😞 If I don't get points for it, the only way I can improve my app is by retaking the TEAS, but IDK if I could get higher than my first attempt LOL.

Oh yeah I think if you're not able to have a conversation in another language you wouldn't pass 😅 If your total points is at least above 71 I think you're good!

Thankfully I can have another convo in my second language, but hopefully at an intermediate level haha. Anyways yeah, I'm aiming for at least a 72 just to be safe! I'm sitting at 69 points RN, but if I can pass the language test, I should be good to go! Did you do the test yet? If so, how did it go?

Not yet I take it next week! But honestly go for it! I don't think they ask too many hard questions so it's worth the try!
after really digging into my scoring I feel like I would not be accepted considering that I do not have intermediate proficiency(just elementary) in another language, and I do not have any health-related work experience. I have been trying to get some experience over the Summer but received callbacks way too late. I would need to get 95% or higher on the TEAS to override those points, which I believe a majority of applicants already have, to reach competitiveness.

Good luck on your test!! I just took mine today. I thought it'd be more difficult but it was based around reading a short story and answering questions that my proctor asked about it. It was conversational for the most part and the questions were pretty basic imo.

It's for Spanish! I think the hardest part about this is we have to find our own faculty member who will assess you and I don't even go to Sac State so I was blindly emailing the Spanish department until I got a response LOL
