SFSU - just how competitive is it? (BSN program)

U.S.A. California

I am a California resident but am currently going to school in Illinois as a sophomore in college. I plan on transferring to a BSN nursing program my junior year, so I will be applying to schools this fall. I will be living in the Bay Area and have been looking into SFSU, but am afraid it might be too competitive. Does anyone know the average GPA of past applicants? What other factors are weighed as much as GPA?

What other schools in the Bay Area have BSN programs that aren't as hard to get in to?

Yeah I applying this fall too but I realllllly want to go to CSU East Bay. SFSU is like my 2nd choice. Dude you got like all of the requirements and you have really good grades. I think you got a good shot dude @ sfsu. I don't know anything about bakersfields requirements but you look damn competitive.

what is multicultural experience by the way? lol. I don't think I would qualify for that.

LOL thanks, but I really wanted a 4.0. How about if i get accepted to SFSU and Bako, I'll give you my SFSU spot while I go to Bako:chuckle ?

Anyhow, good luck with CSUEB. I can't apply since I never took an org chem course, and they require all prereqs to be done by fall semester.

Multicultural experience is about dealing with the poor, hungry, homeless, economically disadvantage, at-risk, hospice, AIDS, death and dying, etc....

Specializes in Surgical/Trauma ICU.

Thinking about SFSU taking my application seriously make me go crazy.

I'm already applying to the University as a backup incase I don't get into any nursing schools so I might as well apply to the nursing school just for the heck of it. No need to worry about me snagging one of those spots, 3.6 gpa 2/3 supplemental. Yuck.

Does anyone know if SFSU SoN with inform us whether or not they have recieved our application packet or what not?

I applied to both the university and the SoN, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

how did you mail in your supplement. SFSU doesn't really tell you specifically. Did you use like one of those manila envelops?

dude, your 4.0 killed my 3.82:chuckle. Do you only have multicultural experience? Even if I got accepted to CSU Bakersfield and SFSU, I'd still go to Bako because of their 21-month BSN than SFSU's 2.5 years.

anyhow, if you're applying with me this semester, then good luck . we're with the other 1200+ applicants.

Do you know how many spots Bakersfield has for the bsn program? and is it really just 21 months?

How did you like your job as a CNA? How many yrs have you worked as CNA? My counselor is advising for me to have a back up plan, while waiting to get in after I complete my prereqs, is that a good idea? I am currently in a community college, with As and Bs, completing prereqs but for this fall I will be going through the CNA program, How much is the average salary in SF? because I am thinking of working part-time while completing prereqs.

bay area schools are a crapshoot look into La intramerican metro no wait list im looking into going in aug
