Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. :banghead: Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.

Thanks

I am currently in the nursing program at national in SD and I have a pink stethoscope. They don't really care about what color your stethoscope is, as long as you have one. If you have any questions feel free to message me, I am halfway through the program yay.

Ooooh, excellent! So, I don't need to call them then.... (cause I forgot actually, sorry girls, was too busy at work...:() So, sweeet559, did you get your scope engraved?? :) Also, did you have to bring your "blue bag" to lab every day? (I mean during they first month, when you work in simulation lab, not actual clinicals)

OK so now that my CNA class is finally over and I have a lot more time I started reading yesterday. WOW...I only read the 1st chapter. Maybe it's just me, but that was anything but interesting. Have you all finished reading the 4 chapters yet?

Also, are there any more ATI tests that we have to take before we start class? Or was it just the one we took at orientation? THANK YOU:D

You have to take another ATI test to see what you best learning style is or something the code in in your orientation packet and I think we got an email about it, I haven't taken it yet, however. I have read the first 2 chapters. I am working in the 3rd as we speak. Hope you all are well!

I am on chapter 5 now...just started... The first 4 chapters were pretty basic info (so i thought) but still was interesting to read (with minimal definitions / terms, etc). I try to read after work...whenever I can...:uhoh3: but it's hard to find time with full time work, house chores, and a 3 year old (very hyper) boy....oh, and a whiny sick husband...so it's like having 3 babies at home, instead of one! :)

I also took the ATI test (self assesment)... it was like 150 questions... :crash_coma bunch of BS, if you ask me....very pointless and a waste of time! :icon_roll

I mean to say "2 babies" not 3.... :brnfrt:

hey girls. wow lots of new info and i love that :D hey...anyone know of a great BRAND for a stethoscope? not too cheap (like NU's) but not the $400 ones either!

danni314,

littmann stethoscopes are pretty good. and not too bad in price $80-100.

Yes, I am thinking of getting Littmann Classic II SE.... I've read good ratings on them.... And here's the website with the BEST price ($61.99): http://steeles.com/catalog/3mclassII.html They also laser engrave them for like $15.... Not bad, I think...

h0n3ybee, do you think this one is good enough? Or would you recommend something "better" like Littmann Cardiology III ($130.99)?? Thanks!!! :)

You can find the Littmann Classic II SE on eBay, new for a bit less. I just got one, you may want to look into it!

I probably wouldn't get the Littmann Cardiology III because it's pretty pricey. The Classic II SE is a pretty good one. Plus, if it happens to get legs and disappear during clinicals, it won't be as big a loss. :)

Thanks a bunch, mislolalady! :) I'll look into the prices on ebay... The only thing about that is: the scope will not have my name on it, and it won't come with a 3 year warranty... i think.... :(
