Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.
Thanks
Misslolalady, you made me feel so much better! I've been getting some anxiety and wondering to myself if I can really do this. I'm a straight A student, but after all nursing school is really nothing like we've ever done in the past...MUCH more work and thinking critically as you've said. PROPS TO YOU on getting all A's, what an accomplishment so far! I hope I can do the same! As for my work schedule, I will be working 3 shifts a week (in total about 12 hours) at the Elephant Bar (where I've worked for years, just happens to be a coincidence that it's right across the street!)...HAHA! I hope I can hang with that schedule, I really want to succeed and at the end of this be a really great nurse, making impacts on people's lives.
As for Friday, April 3rd...I'm in! Samantha, that was a great idea! You all just keep me posted! :)
Cool ladies seems like you liked the idea, now we just have to decide exactly where and when on April 3rd. It will be nice to discuss how we each have prepared for school (shoes, stethoscopes, freed our schedules ect.) I think we have established that it will be coffee, now where is a central location for all of us? I live in Lakeside, and you all?
Well, I had 2 jobs, I lost my full time job right before I started the program. I have another job, a freelancer for MAC cosmetics, but I have not worked since I started the program.
It's hard, very hard to find time to spend with my fiance. We bother have crazy schedules...and it's hard to convince yourself to study when all you want is some quality time with your loved ones.
I ALWAYS find some me time, though. I go to the gym 3 times a week, regardless of my workload. It's my only outlet. Physical fitness is incredibly important to me... especially when you are pretty high stress, at all times, not always eating what you should, not sleeping... if I didn't make it to the gym, I am sure I'd be gaining lots of weight!
I'm really lucky though. I don't work (don't get me wrong, we are struggling! Money is very tight!) and I don't have kids (yet), so it's easier for me to have the time I need. If you do have one or the other, or both of these things, don't think it can't be done. It most certainly can. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Just make sure you have a strong support system. And make sure you maximize your time. Try getting to school an hour early to study, or do homework, study during lunch breaks. I always try to do as much as I can at school since I am already there, so that I don't feel overwhelmed when I get home. Believe me- you'll figure out the best ways to maximize the time (or little time) you have.
misslolalady,
Thanks for your continued input! :) It's great that you can find "me" time - that's that part I always feel guilty about - but I know I shouldn't. I always put my family and school before ME. Never get massages, facials, or other pampering... But I know I need to find a balance, and reward myself occasionally in order to feel good about myself and go on successfully... Sounds like you got that balance.... Good for you! :)
