LA county Relief nurse 2013

U.S.A. California

Hello all :) I applied to a relief nurse 1 position with LA county. I then got a letter in the mail sayng my application had been accepted and i was scheduled for the "examination." I took the test, passed the test, and got another letter in the mail about two months after my test saying I had passed and that my name will be placed in an "eligibility list." What now? Does any one know what happens after this process? Thank you all so much! any info is appreciated. I did get a call from Harbor UCLA and filled out some paper work and got scheduled for an interview. But is this test for all LA county nurse jobs? What has your experience been like? I also heard something about a verbal exam/ interview? what is that?

Does anybody have the next few orientation start date at Harbor UCLA?

Yes, Harbor call me the next day after physical, they call me asking that when can I start.they gave me two orientation date, Dec 16 and Jan 7 . I decided to start orientation on Dec 16. Orientation is 6 days.

I finally got the email for my health screening. Took about 6 weeks.

Are we able to pick our orientation date?

does anybody know when the next relief nurse or RN I position is gonna open?

yes, you will be able to pick your orientation date based on when they have orientations scheduled.

Thanks! One day after the health screening I was called with my start date. They asked if I was able to start on Monday, but I have some prior commitments, and asked if I could start the 2nd date in February, and they said of course.

Let me know how your orientation is!. I am so nervous!

chliRN I have to take the challenge test as well. I was wondering how it was ( I am assuming you have taken it by now). What do you think was the best way you prepared. I'm scared too.
Sophia, RN chliRN esinb86 nurse24365 NurseJM46 NewGradRN77 I tried following your comments and I have assumed you guys/gals have gone through the process and now have jobs at LA County. I have my physical tomorrow, and hopefully will have an orientation date ASAP for the PCU. So I am curious, How has it been working at LA County thus far? Was there something you wished someone told you before starting? I am really excited but very anxious because I don't know what to expect.

Does anyone know if pay rate is same for relied nurse position at both facilities lac usc and harbor ucla

Can someone please share how/when I can get on the availability list for new grad RN?

Hi guys.

I was recently offered a job at Lac Usc in their neuro icu and was wondering if anyone is currently working in their icus? I was wondering how is it working for lac Usc county and your experiences? So sorry to ask, I interviewed with them 2.5 months ago but they barely called me a week ago offering me a job. But i had already accepted another full time job at another hospital 2 months ago and am currently training there thinking lac Usc didn't want me. im conflicted because I've always wanted to work for county and in icu but not sure if I should quit my current job for lac Usc. Any advice would be much appreciated :) thank you!
