CSU Dominguez Hills Online RN to BSN

U.S.A. California

Published

I was just wondering if anyone has information about CSU Dominguez Hills, which is located in Carson, CA. I'm looking into getting my BSN soon, I currently have an ADN. I just graduated this year and just started my first job as an RN in San Francisco so I want some flexibility. How do the clinicals work, if any? Can I go through my employer with that? Lastly, any experiences or thoughts about CSU Dominguez Hills??? Thanks! :D

Hi!

I live right by CSUDH and when it comes to colleges, the best resource is always the college itself. I'm sure if you schedule an appointment with their nursing program advisors, you can tell them your situation as well as ask your questions. :) And post any info you get! =D

Where did you get your ADN btw?

I went to the College of San Mateo in the Bay Area. Thanks!

I actually just started the BSN program @ CSUDH. So far it's okay but it's only been a week. Although I think I may transfer out. I'm more of a auditory and visual learner that needs the class stimulation. Well see though. Other than that I'm loving that I can work on the assignments anytime and that it won't interfere w/ my work schedule.

What about clinicals? How does that work? Thanks for the reply!

Specializes in OR.

I am also interested in hearing more about this online BSN school. :smokin:

Specializes in Emergency Nursing-VN Educator.

I just graduated (walked) from the BSN program at CSUDH in May 2008. It is very user friendly, especially for the working nurse. You can take as many Classes as you like of just take one class per semester which is what I did. It took me longer but I did this so that I would actually be able to concentrate on each class, learn as much as I could before moving on to the next class, everybody is different. The clinical portions of this program are for obtaining your public health certificate and are Community Based Nursing One and Two. I don't know if you have been on-line yet to csudh.edu where you will find lots of information that breaks everything down for you. There is very little clinical involved, and there are still a few live classes out there but mostly the degree is obtained on-line. Please let me know if I can help you any further. Good Luck

I am about to start my ADN-BSN through CSUDH at the end of the month. Did anyone do the "challenge" courses? How heavy is the work load with each course? ie How many do you think I could manage a semester while working?

Congratulations on completing your BSN!.Iam also thinking of going CSUDH ..i do have to get statistics done prior to applying though. Please tell me more.. my email address is [email protected] Thank you . amy
