CSU Bakersfield Fall 2013 Hopefuls?

U.S.A. California

Published

I am applying for entrance to CSUB this fall. Anyone else out there?

August!? AHHH! Even MORE crazy! But awesome that she got in, gives hope!!! =)

rh-you should look at maybe an apartment vs a dorm. I mean, that's just what I think, but dorms are expensive! If you can find someone else who's looking for a roommate, splitting the rent would be much cheaper! But again, dorms have food and stuff included in the rent.... so IDK....tough call.

Hi cp! =) Good luck on the TEAS! I did really badly the first time, like 72? 75? something like that. the second time. I got an 86. Still not as high as others, but I was shooting for an 85. =) So now you know what to study! HAHA!

Yep!!! I need to buff up on my life sciences lol, on the anatomy and physiology I got over 90% but of course all the physical science stuff from highschool I totally failed lol.

Rh- If I get in, which I pray pretty much all day everyday that I do, I will need an apartment as well. I live in northern ca so I am in the same boat! According to their website, and some research of my own, there are a few apartments near by the school so I am hoping those are not too expensive?? I have never been to Bakersfield so I don't know anything about it except for what I have read online lol. Can second degree students even live in the dorms?

Sam--yea, that would be another option! Thanks! lol. I was just thinking that itd be cheaper & more convenient if i stayed at a dorm cuz u know im not from the area & im a little scared! Lol.

Cp--i called them about transfer students applying for a dorm, & its possible as long as u pay for the application fee & a downpayment of $300, i believe, within the due date.. But i dont want to apply & put down a downpayment unless im sure im in... But yea hopefully we all get accepted, & if we do, maybe we can be roommates! Oh and goodluck on the teas test! Im thinking about retaking mine since i only got 83% ugh.

Hey guys. I retook my TEAS this past Saturday at CSULA. It was a paper/pencil test. Anyone ever take the written version and know how long it takes to get results?

Hey Mel! :-) how do you think you did? I THINK it like 2 or 3 days? I can't remember off the top of my head though. :-/ Let us know!! :-)

I think I improved in a couple sections, and maybe didn't do quite as well as last time in the other two. I don't know! I just hope I at least improved my overall score because that was the whole point of taking it again. I got an 84 last time. I just finished Stats and got an A, so I'm happy with that. I start Physio next week. I really need an A in that class too. I don't like waiting to find out, but I'm going to be doing a lot of that for the next several months!

84 is good! I got 86. And I didn't retake it. :-) I felt like my brain was all studied out! Haha. I'm sure you did better this time.

I loved Physio!! It was my second favorite pre-req. (Micro was the first) I'm in Stats now, 1/2 way done. It's not as hard as I thought it would be. But philosophy (ethics) is proving to try all my brain power! I've got .1 from an A! So close! And still 1/2 a semester to go! It's the fact that in lecture, we seem to just discuss, then on the exam, he wants specific information! 8-/

Humph!

We will learn patience whether we want to or not hu? Lol!

Ok so lets just say that I am glad I got 84% the first time, haha. I didn't do as well the second time. Oh well. Now I REALLY need the A in Physio.

Hi do any of you know when CSU bakersfield notifies who got admitted to the nursing program?

The email said anytime after April 22 we will get a notification letting us know the status of our apps. But that's just letting us know what they have and have not received.

All TEAS tests have to be received in their office by that date too.

I think in May we get a preliminary standing, but it's completely unofficial.

June 17, all classes must be completed to be counted for the program and unofficial grades can be emailed to the dept.

July 26, all official grades are due. Both to the admissions office, and the nursing dept.

so, my guess is officially, we will know late July or early August. :-/

Thank you!

No problem! :-)
