California nclex-RN 9/2016

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi! I recently took the nclex-RN on 9/13/16 and anxiously waiting results. I did the PVT and got the "good pop up." California has a bad reputation of results and applicants sporadically getting their results/ATT and does not always follow the wait time listed on the BRN website.. anyone take their nclex around the same time and have gotten or are waiting results?? On the website it estimates 2-4 weeks, which is really long to wait to see if you passed or not!

Congratulations!!! Do you have a job offer already? Are you in the Bay Area by chance? Just wondering if the job market here is as bad as everyone says :(

hello I also took my NCLEX 9/12/2016 for CA and have not received my results yet. I did the PVT 9/13/16 and got the good pop up " our records indicate you have schedule this exam ... " I have been checking the BREEZE LIST every day and nothing. I have been doing the PVT everyday and am still getting the same message . Also when I log into my BREEZE account my application is still up states " Registered Nurse w / a six digit # " Btw, this was my fourth time so I am not sure if that has any thing to do with it .

mine still says that as well! I have been reading that as long as they haven't removed your application from breeZe yet, it should be a sign that they're still reviewing if it's "pending." Otherwise, they would be have removed your application, prompting you to reapply. Called BRN today and they said continue to wait :-/ good luck! Keep us posted @aishamarshall

yeah I just spoke with one of my friends who took it 9/8 and her license was posted 9/10 so the BRN does not go in order. I am praying for you! But I would just rely on the PVT. If it is still giving you the good pop up we should both be fine. When I called the boards they told me Pearson knows before they do and if you get the good pop up and it doesn't take your money you passed! I will definitely keep you updated and vice versa.

No, not yet.. Have to start job hunting. Did they post yours yet?

I have a question, for those of you who took your NCLEX-RN for CA, How long did it take you from when you sent it your paperwork to receive a testing date? I am enrolled in a program in Nevada and will finish in December and want to test for California but am being told it would be faster to test for Nevada then transfer my license to California. Help:(!

Hello all, I'm new to this thread and it looks like I'm in the same boat as you guys. I took my NCLEX-RN this morning. It shut off at 75 questions and about 1/3 of the exam was SATA. I also just tried the PVT and got the "good pop up". So now the waiting begins! I received a 93% passing predictor for ATI and a 94% passing predictor from Kaplan, I find it hard to believe that I received both of those scores and bombed NCLEX (Since shutting off at 75 is either really good or it can mean you bombed it). However, I still have my fears and doubts since I had difficulty with all but a few questions. I am interested to hear how soon you all get your results. It really is a bummer that CA makes us wait so long.

Missyak92: I applied and sent in all my paperwork by mail on July 15th 2016, graduated on August 20th 2016, and received my ATT on August 24th 2016. However, students from my school received their ATT quicker than any other school I have heard so maybe CA is getting quicker!

Thank you, people have been telling me I will be pushed out four months if I want CA licensure. But all I want is a fast test date so that I can let my employer know when I will be testing thank you.!!!

@missyak92 , I went to school out of state as well! In my point of view it would be better to just apply for licensure in California, especially if you don't plan on practicing in Nevada. If you take a look at the processing times for "licensure by endorsement" the wait time is just as long. Also, in my research it seemed that it was "easier" in terms of the review process, to be licensed initially in California than being endorsed. However, it did take me a reallyyy long time. I applied for licensure march 24, finally got my att 21 weeks later (like August 17). Took my nclex 3.5 weeks later. Good luck!

@payneco it is so random how things are done in BRN they definitely do not go in order, nor do they follow the processing times listed on the website.. I don't mind waiting a week, even 2 weeks for results but a lot can be done in the 4+ weeks it takes to get nclex results/license number. I know the struggle! Good luck and keep us updated! I'll do the same :)

@CA_nurse90 Did you obtain an interim permit in the time it took? Also when you say you applied March 24, when did you graduate? I am asking to know from when all the papers are sent in to obtaining the att thank you !

@missyak92 i did not!! At the time, I thought it would only take 6-8 weeks before graduation to process my application (according to the processing times) so I didn't bother.. but I recommend you get it at the time of application! Some places don't take interim licenses but I know kaiser does! Btw, I graduated in May 2016.

@CA-nurse90 Thank you, you have been so helpful and kind!
