california license by endorsement

We have all heard how lengthy the California licensing by endorsement can be. I haven't found any new updated threads on this. What's your experience been in the California license by endorsement process?… I'm from NY and sent in my license for endorsement a month ago, which was the middle of December 2015. I think I'm looking at another 3 months from now. I didn't apply for the temporary license. They haven't cashed my check yet.

What's your status and how's the process going for you?

Thanks.

I have several questions regarding license by endorsement.

1) Can I use a finger print card with complete finger prints from say a couple years ago? I thought I was moving to CA and started the process a couple years ago, had my finger prints done but at the last minute changed my mind so I never submitted my application. I still have the old finger print card. Can I still mail it?

2) Exactly what can be attached with the online application? Am I correct to assume I can attach the online Licensure by Endorsement Applicant Identification Form and 2"x2" photograph? Everything else must be mailed in (i.e. finger print card and transcript)?

3) How exactly do I attach the photo to the online application? Do I attach it as a picture or as part of the endorsement applicant identification form?

Thank you!

I sent in my application in September 2017. I got a letter 01/2/2017 saying they needed my transcript for my diploma from my International nursing school. They also noted that they needed breakdown hours/credits for oral communication. I did my BSN in USA, they got transcript from the college already. I have Texas License. They said if I don't send the requirements in one year, my application will be cancelled, and I have to reapply.

Are there any International Nurses on this thread, trying to get CA RN License by Endorsement?

Hi ! Have you checked the processing times at the BON's website.

Board of Registered Nursing - Processing Times

idk how accurate that is. I havent even experienced waiting for a month and im already going crazy and anxious. So many opportunities just passing by my face :(

Sent in my application packet with livescan done and nursys done on feb 4, 2016 with check for temp and perm license. Lol even though many said dont waste the 50 on temp license.

I have a very different situation. I am from california and i initially applied for licensure by examination but while waiting for my eligibility (which was taking too long since im a foreign grad), i applied for licensure in texas and passed. My family were really considering moving to texas at that time but everything changed. Then suddenly this past january, i got my eligibility for cali " to exam". So i contacted my analyst and i asked about my situation and how do i endorse my texas license. She said do everything except the transcripts and other supplmental forms for foreign grads since i am deemed eligible already. But anyways thats my story...

No check charged yet. And i tried emailing my analyst again for updates on feb 11 since she responded fast before. But naaadaaa.

Hopefully something soon for all of us. Stay positive!

Prayers and have a good day!

Hi Kay! So I've read that you're a foreign student. Got license from Texas and trying to endorse your license to California which is my exact situation right now. We're you able to endorse your license to California eventually? Or did they still require you to take nclex again?

Well as I am on hold with the California BON as we speak, figured I'd chime in on the topic while I wait. I am patiently waiting to relocate to California, as my s/o has already moved there. He was offered a great job opportunity and had to leave rather quickly. I submitted my application January 23 ( a little under five weeks ago). I used nursys for my NY license verification. I luckily had been visiting California in Jan, so I was able to submit my fingerprints with livescan. I had my nursing school send my transcripts around Jan 20. Everything was done electronically and paid for on 1/23. I did pay the money for the temporary license as well. According to the website, my permanent license should take 10-12 weeks and my temporary should take 8-10 weeks. They are currently processing applications from Nov 1-16 (perm) and Nov 16-30 (temp), although this hasn't been updated since 2/14. I did attempt to email them about 3 weeks ago in an attempt to see if they got all the required documents, but did not get a response. I am trying to get some more information about my specific application by speaking to a live person (which is a challenge in itself). The number I called kept disconnecting me, saying no one could help me at this time. Hopefully I can get through. Its very annoying because I had been applying for jobs, had several phone interviews, but no one will seriously consider you without your CA license because it takes so long to obtain. I will update this comment if I get any new information.

Well that was a waste of my time. After an hour wait they told me to refer to the websites wait times. Weren't even able to verify that they got my transcripts, they said they would write a note in my file saying I sent them in.

Submitted my online application on 1/5/18, got my temporary license on 3/12/18. I mailed in finger print card which is probably why it took longer than 8 weeks.

Finally got my temporary license today! Submitted 1/23. Received 3/14. Still waiting on my peemaneant!

Just wondering if anyone has any input as to how to submit the California licensure by endorsement application, they ask for many different documents.... are all these sent separately or gathered to send at the same time?

Hi i was wondering about that too. I am planning to endorse my license here i Cali due to military orders of my husband. i want to do it right the first time coz i don't want to add more delays on the processing.

hi all. Been awhile since I saw my original post, to those reading this now, December 2017, it took 4 months total to receive my CA license by endorsement.

Hi. was about to process my application by endorsement. They ask for a lot of documents. are all these sent separately or gathered to send at the same time? thanks.

Are there any International Nurses on this thread, trying to get CA RN License by Endorsement?

me! i'm an RN from NY and trying to endorse it here due to military orders of my husband.

So....when the processing times is listed as 10-12 weeks what exactly does that mean? 10-12 weeks total??? I assumed that since I submitted my app on Feb 9, I should be receiving my license somewhere April 22-May 6, which is 10-12 weeks from Feb 9.

However you'll notice on the website it'll say something like 'Now processing applications from from the weeks of...Feb 1-16', and I'm being told that that 'Now processing' date is just when they open your file/start processing it, and it takes 10-12 weeks from THEN to get the license!!! Which means 6 months total???
