California Hospital Medical Center New Grad L&D April/May 2017

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to start a thread for anyone who has applied to the New Grad Program in L&D at Dignity's California Hospital Medical Center. Good luck everyone!! I just happened to find this listing today (4/20/17) and applied. It says they will be interviewing the week of May 1, 2017 and it was apparently listed on 4/12. Please comment if you applied/ get a call!

(Btw, I only saw a new grad program for them in L&D...nothing in MedSurg etc.)

I saw your post about the northridge new grad program, congrats!!! I was interviewed on april 12 for med-surg unit and i havent heard back from them yet í ½í¸­

GOOD LUCK! Which do you think you'd rather take- the medsurg or L&D? Do you know if they wear uniforms or their own scrubs? I wasn't expecting to hear from them until next week with all the talk about interviews on 4/28. (I talked to HR prior to the posts about 4/28 interviews and she said they will wait for all interviews to be complete before giving an offer to be fair- you might be waiting for that reason.)

L&D would be exciting!!

Med surg is a great place to start but i love l&d! P&d is a different world, i think..

I have a friend who works at california hospital, she said that dignity health hospital provide scrubs for the employees..

But I have cute Thanksgiving scrubs to wear! haha (That was seriously the first thought I had when you mentioned the uniform). That's really great that they offer free scrubs...they're color coded so you know a team member is from RT/ CNA, etc.

Did you hear anything from the recruiter?

Hi, everyone! I applied April 24th and got a call the next day. My interview time slot was confirmed today. I was trying to find more information about the program start date, and came across this thread. I noticed in the email it said none of this will be covered until the interview. In regard to the scrubs that means that we cannot wear our own scrubs, we must wear theirs?

hey guys! how and where did you get the AWHONN fetal monitoring certificate? I have a basic fetal monitoring class scheduled, but I am not sure if that's a AWHONN certificate.

Here's is the link to the course I took online through AWHONN it's $70 all online. AWHONN-FHM – APS .its pretty cool they scheduled the interview before you took the course, I was running around all crazy lol
