Hello,
I know it's still a bit early, but I was wondering if anyone is applying for the Fall of 2016 program at Calhoun?
Bring914 - There were a few people at orientation that had not taken the TEAS. (I took it last summer.) The advisors did tell everyone that the exams fill up quick just before the application deadline and that if you are going to take it, then you need to sign up as soon as possible. The recommended book was my only study guide (and I hadn't taken Microbiology or A&P). I did fairly well. The orientation went over pretty much all the info from the FAQ on the Calhoun website as well as the details of the nursing application packet. The Dean of Sciences gave the Feb 3 orientation and he stated that nearly 1,000 students apply every spring. He didn't give any specifics for cuts off or how many seats they have this fall but did say that the part-time evening program averages about 35 seats. The day time program does have more, I believe around 100. He did state that 200 points and over shouldn't have a hard time getting in.
Thanks for the info! I'm already sign up to take the TEAS on the 29th. I'm sorta nervous, but have been averaging around a 150ish on my practice exams, so that makes me feel better. I can't imagine widdling 1,000 applications down to lass than 150. That's intense.
Hello,
I'm applying for the ADN Part-time program. I just thought I would introduce myself. I have taken the TEAS-V. I am just waiting on all of my transcripts to come in so I can complete my application. I have not been to an info session yet but I plan to next week. Good luck to everyone!
I just took the TEAS this past Monday. I made a 96 on math and a 79 on science. I was pretty stressed out about it too. I used the ATI study guide. I did terrible on practice test but better on actual test.
Awesome job! Wish there was a way to recognize everyone at the info session. I'll be at the one on the 23rd as well.
