We've got several months until application time opens for Fall 2015. I assume it'll open sometime in May, maybe April if we're lucky! Does anyone already have it on their brain like I do Hoping to make it in the program for Fall 2015 & would love to chat with some other folks that have ants in their pants too!
Hey guys, is anyone else beside me paying out of pocket using the payment plan? If so, how do we determine what our fees will be? I am not sure if I will buy my books used or not just yet but I know there are so many other fees they add in. I am trying to get a ballpark so I can budget.
I am doing my CPR up here in Birmingham at a Firestation for $15. I am going to the doctor today and see how many of these shots he can give me in one visit, lol! Some colleges do the background/drug test at orientation so I hadnt given that much thought, but you guys let me know what you find out for sure.
DID I MENTION HOW SUPER EXCITED I AM RIGHT NOW!!!!????? If you see my face there is a look of UTTER shock and terror because now, all of a sudden THIS IS HAPPENING! It is real! We have worked so hard to get here and now...WE ARE GONNA BE NURSES!!!!!!!
Thanks Drummonds, I called the company and they said my cost was higher because of having a maiden name. They said I am unable to change the settings & the company is unable to as well. They said the college can change it, but I decided to pay the extra $17 instead of the hassle of calling the college and not even knowing who to speak with. So now I'm just waiting to do the drug test.
I'm getting all my books for free from someone that's graduating in a couple of days. I would try to see if there is a graduating person that would either give you the books or sell them to you for a cheaper price. The cost of those books are crazy. But the editions don't really ever change much.

Okay I think we can complete everything before orientation. All your vaccines can be done at you physicians office. Your tb test can be done at the medical mall in hunrsville. If you go on the calhoun website and go to the nursing page scroll down and you will see a link to the vaccine forms. At the top of the page you will see the link and tutorial for the background check and the drug test. You have to pay 71 dollars for the background check and I believe the results get sent directly to calhoun. The madison city fire department will be having a cpr class for all those like me and don't have a cert. I still don't know date or time but they usually hold them on a saturday. I'm not sure if you can turn all this in before orientation or not but you can at least have it ready to go.
