Cal State San Marcos, CSUSM, Accelerated, ABSN 2011

Anyone planning on applying to the Spring 2011, CSUSM, accelerated ABSN program? Just wondering if there is anyone else out there:)

Hi everyone!

I am looking to live in Temecula starting Fall of 2011 while attending the ABSN program. I have been browsing online for 3 bedroom 3 bath apartments to rent. I would like to get to know you guys! So excited to start!

Also, has anybody heard anything else from CSUSM? It says online that once you get accepted, you need to apply to the actual university? Has anybody done that yet? If so, how do you go about doing so?

Thank you!!!! : )

Hi teenuh! I sent you a pm . :)

As for the rest, I haven't heard anything from CSUSM or the advisors about what to do after submitting the deposit. I think we will hear more during the orientation, though that date is unknown too.

Has anyone asked about the orientation date and when to apply to the university? I wanted to check here before I sent an email to a counselor.

Let us know what they say.

Last email I got from --- said she'd let us know more later in the summer.

I emailed the advisor dealing with me and she said they decided on an orientation date today. She told me it would be

August 8, in the morning.

Hope this helps, though I'm sure they'll be sending out an official email later!

way to go mimizan! thanks for letting us know .... now i have to quit my work earlier than expected ...

Hi Everyone!

I just got my acceptance email yesterday...I probably just made the cut! I currently live in Orange County so no commuting for me. I've been looking at 2-4 bedroom apts/houses in Temecula (I got into the Temecula campus) and since the cost of living is cheaper than in OC, there's plenty of homes for rent that look like really great deals ($1,600-$1,800 for 4 br/2-3baths)! I would like to get to know all you as well, so that we can get settled into a place before the whirlwind comes rolling along. It's always easier to live with people that understand what you're going through so I'd love to live with my nursing girls! Please let me know if any of you are interested in finding a place and maybe we can all meet up at the orientation! Congratulations to all of you!

There will be a few of us murses in the cohort as well. What about us?

Hi everyone.

Got my acceptance email last Saturday. Really glad to hear some of the comments of current absn students and how the schedule for the first semester isn't overly rigorous as my wife is due in late Sept.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Verified. There are at least two of us murses in cohort 10!

And to add to what I've already mentioned, I work at a hospital with a girl who just finished the CSUSM ABSN program. She said there were 2 days of clinicals (never on the weekend) and Friday all day classes. Of course, that was her experience. We could all have something different as far as clinicals go.

Thanks for your reply djexpress. Are you Temecula? I know the orientation is Aug 8 @ 8am.

Its kind of a relief that the schedule is not so bad early on also because I have heard the program overall is tough.

Definitely looking forward to it though. It seems like it took forever to get my prereqs dont though it was only 3 semesters.

Still have one Soc class to complete.

I never got word of the orientation, how did you?

Which Soc class? The one we are supposed to complete later after we're in the program?
