Cal State Fullerton EL-BSN

Published

I'm currently a student at a community college...current GPA is around 3.7, I wanted to know how competitive the program is to get into from current/former students...I would like to know admission stats, how the program is, etc.; Any advice will be appreciated!!!!!!

Hi AL1992,

I have a friend going through the same thing right now and it's driving both of us crazy trying to get her into the EL-BSN program. But the toughest part is getting into the university itself. Right now it seems CSUF is only accepting upper-division transfers and first-time freshmen. The program itself seems more competitive than when I got accepted back in 2008, probably due to the larger amount of students applying to get in. I would say make yourself stand out from the rest by listing any volunteer activities, healthcare-related coursework, projects, and jobs you may have done. You should also have all of your prerequisites done. It would help a lot if you have at least a "B" in all your prereqs and received a score higher than 70% on the TEAS. As for admission stats, you could call the School of Nursing office and they may be able to give you that as well as other information. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much! I have A's in everything except 2 English classes and Speech in which I received B's in those 3...I'm taking the TEAS in a week so wish me luck!!!

The points system is er, interesting. I have a pre req gpa of about 4.0 depending on which 6 of 8 pre reqs they look at after fall because ill have all 8 done by dec

Im trying to get 200 hours of volunteer for extra points I just applied to the university for spring 2012

with the impacted campus my chances don't look good. I applied today and my overall gpa is barely over 3.0. Im afraid I probably wont, ake it into the campus for spring.

I am a upper division transfer BUT from a nonlocal area. Im zoned for cal poly but cal poly doesn't have a nursing program. So it sucks for us who aren't zoned for schools with nursing programs.

And I found out that you meed to apply to the university for spring to be considered for fall 2012. I applied today let's see how quick they deny me

Same with me, I'll have everything completed by December...@BeachBedHead why do you think your chances aren't good for spring 2012?

Well as diigi said, getting into the university is the hard part. My overall gpa sucks so idk...

:(

Plus im trying to get above a 90% on teas and the practice test score is mid80s

You'll get in....just score well ok the TEAS and you'll be fine

Its gonna be near impossible to get into the university itself them to actually get into the program would be like hell freezing over!

But thanks for giving me hope! We will see though. Did you apply for spring yet

I haven't applied yet...Can you tell me what's up with the app process and everything again lol...can I apply for spring get in and then not go and just wait until the NSG program starts or no?

Oh I emailed the assist Director and she said that when you apply for the nursing program you need to be a registered csuf student. So you apply for spring 2012 before august 31st. You have a great gpa so you will be accepted then you take bs classes for spring 3012 while you apply and wait to get into the program. Its a pretty big risk since IF you get into the university plus you have to get into the bsn program which is another big IF (not for you tho lol)

its such a waste of money if you don't get in for fall

That's too much of a risk...idk what to do
