Can someone point me in the right direction, I am looking for CA nursing ratio numbers, for specific areas (Med/surg) etc. Not sure where I can find this info. Thank you in advance :)

I am currently a CA nurse. Heres whats in my hospital which is pretty typical throughout:
Med surge: 5 to 1
ER: 4 to 1
ICU/Critical Care: 2 to 1 or 1 on 1

Great link by batmik - I couldn't have provided the L&D ratios off the top of my head.
As an aside, this may sound silly, but I had NO IDEA every state did mandate patient:nurse staffing ratios. I thought they might be different, but it never occurred to me that this wouldn't be a delegated standard.

Only 2 or 3 states in the US have what I call safe nurse:patient ratios, California (where I live) is one of them.
