CA Endorsement from a Florida school

Updated:   Published

I recently graduated from a school in Florida and I'm now trying to endorse a CA license. I've submitted everything to the board of nursing and I have not heard a thing. I know they're investigating schools, but my school isn't on the list and I did work hard to complete my program. Is anyone else in this situation?  I've waited 7 weeks. I know it could take 10-12weeks. I just have a job lined up and want to start soon. I hate I'm in this situation, it's so not fair for those who've worked hard.

Thanks

Thank you so much for the response. I've been calling almost every week. There was an update online yesterday. Hopefully I'll be endorsed soon. They asked my school for a second transcript, so I'm hoping this is a good sign.

Which school did you go to? I think that is making a difference.

I went to Riggs College of Allied Health. They are approved by the state of Florida but not accredited. They are working on accreditation as they have a good NCLEX pass rate and are a newer school.

Hi Janice, I'm also in the same boat as you. My school is also approved but not accredited. I've been waiting since October last year. I was just wondering if you were able to get your licensed endorsed to California ?

Hi,

No I'm still waiting. Have you called the board and got an update? It's so hard because I live in California. I'm wondering how long this will go on. I read an accredited Florida school is no longer under investigation. I went to Riggs College of Allied Health. Where did you go?

Hi,

I went to Sunrise School. I have been trying to contact them but they are always busy. Have you heard any news when they are going to start endorsing approved schools?

I haven't heard anything. You have to call over and over. Hit 2 then wait and hit 5 for endorsement. Wait online and wait for them to say hold for a rep and let them say enter your number for a call back. I've had to call 20 or 30 times. Smh.  If you hear anything, please let me know.

Yes,  no problem. I'll let you know if I hear anything. Do you have a temporary RN license in California?

I have a temporary license, but I really need the permanent one. How about you? Have you heard anything from the board?

Hi Janice, any news on your endorsement? I called them several times and they informed me at that we are still under review.

Those living in California should contact their state representative or Senator as most can intervene with government agencies = BON for prompt resolution.  Worked for several AN members in other states.
