I recently graduated from a school in Florida and I'm now trying to endorse a CA license. I've submitted everything to the board of nursing and I have not heard a thing. I know they're investigating schools, but my school isn't on the list and I did work hard to complete my program. Is anyone else in this situation? I've waited 7 weeks. I know it could take 10-12weeks. I just have a job lined up and want to start soon. I hate I'm in this situation, it's so not fair for those who've worked hard.
Thanks
What school did you attend before?
When I spoke with them told me NCLEX is a national exam you take it 1 time.
People went to school 10 years ago in other country when they endorsement cali will tell them they need to take certain classes to meet their expectations before approval.
You have a plan just stick to it and get started

See? LOL
They are cleared to not be apart of operation nightingale, yes. But that's not what they're being investigated for anymore.
They're being investigated for being a fraud school that fails most of their students. Look at all the bad reviews, even recent. The deeper you get in the program, the harder it is to pass and they fail most of the students so they get more tuition money out of you. THAT is what they are being investigated for.
And no, it's not normal. It's mostly LVNs/LPNs attending this school so they know how nursing school works and how to pass these classes. The classes are nearly identical for RN compared to LPN.
I recently found out that it has been introduced to legislation that California become one of the compact states. It was introduced March 11, 2024. If you Google "AB 3232 nursing California" it shows up. Also, if you go to the website for compact states, On NCSBN.org, they show California as one of the states pending legislation. I'm going to hold out for that before I pay another school and go through another RN program. We passed the NCLEX, so we are competent, so now California needs to catch up.

This is not the first time. It always gets rejected
I heard it's been rejected before also. Hopefully since there are only 4 or 5 states not in the compact, maybe it'll put some pressure on California to join. I can only hope. Seems like we're being punished for going out of state, Cali needs nurses but makes it impossible to go to school.
Hi, I thought Sunrise school got approved. I know some people got endorsement from ICHS in Florida. I have been waiting since January 2023 for my school Riggs College of Allied Health in Florida to be approved. My school submitted the 9 pages of information the beginning of January 2024. I paid $550 for my application in January 2023. Since it's been over a year, my application has expired. I have written my assemblyman, Consumer Affairs and the Governor and the board says the same thing: The school is under review, there is no timeframe, there is no way to expedite and there is no update. The only way to get a compact license is to live in a compact state and have a license in that state first. I have a Florida RN, but my residence is California.
No Sunrise School of Nursing FL, has not been approved yet as far as I know. So many people were not able to endorse their license to California since the school is still under review. Only ONE STUDENT could obtain a CA temporary license, and he renewed it every six months. Other CA students of Sunrise were not able to get a temporary license. I feel that if my sister enrolled in a private nursing school in CA, such as Samuel Merritt for ABSN (one-year program), and paid 100000 for tuition, by now, she would have paid back her loan. It is such a huge mistake to enroll in an unaccredited out-of-state school.

Once again, there have been dozens of people who graduated 1-2 years ago who have not been able to get endorsed in CA and graduated from ICHS. This is nothing new. But every time someone comments this, some random person comments this is untrue and old news. But it's not.
